We took a break for the 4th of July but now we're back! We hand the reins to Gracie, she picks all the topics and brings on a special guest... her boyfriend Lawrence! We immediately spiral into the kind of funny, painfully relatable honesty that only happens when friends are comfortable enough to roast each other and still feel safe.

Lawrence takes the hot seat and delivers two all-time stories: the American Eagle changing room curtain incident (yes, it’s exactly as bad as it sounds) and a mission-trip moment that turns awkward in the most unexpected way. From there we zoom out into the get-to-know-you questions people secretly love: the list of jobs that shaped him as well as travel, from being born in Japan, coming to the U.S. and falling in love with Africa, we cover a lot!

Then we go full nostalgia with favorite teachers, school memories, and the weird years that made us who we are. We close with two crowd-pleasers: “last meal on earth” (pizza, sushi, southern comfort food, breakfast spreads) and the most honest question of all, what we’re too scared to admit we don’t understand, from taxes and stocks to car maintenance, geography, time zones, and why the wedding industry costs what it costs. If you like a friendship podcast with big laughs, real stories, and relatable life talk, you’ll feel right at home. Subscribe, comment, share this with a friend who loves a good hot seat, and leave a review so more people can find us. But finally, we have an important question, should Lawerence become a more regular host??

Cold Open And Least Favorite Foods

SPEAKER_06

Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Just Us Talking. This week, it's Gracie's episode. She's going to decide the topics. And we also have a very special guest, Gracie's boyfriend, Lauren. He is no longer team Gail. He is fully team Pita. And I'm saying that before he changed his mind. My name's Morgan, and I think my least favorite food. Anything with cream cheese in it.

SPEAKER_08

So it would be cream cheese itself. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Sowery cheese. Some are cheese.

SPEAKER_03

I can already see how that cream cheese.

SPEAKER_06

Sorry, cut in here. Hi, my name is Morgan. My least favorite food is cream cheese.

SPEAKER_07

Hi, my name is Tyree. My least favorite food is Salisbury steak. My parents used to make it when I was younger, but it was like the Betty Crocker one that tasted disgusting. And I would literally be gagging, and my parents would be like, you have to finish your dinner. And I'm like, I would literally rather not Salisbury steak is like, it's almost like trauma for me.

SPEAKER_06

I was gonna say, you started saying it and then your eyes glazed over. You're like, my least favorite food is Salisbury steak. And when I was a kid, I was a kid.

SPEAKER_00

She has a traumatic story behind it too.

SPEAKER_05

Like hi, I'm Mary Grace, and my least favorite food. I don't know. I'm just gonna go with hot dogs.

SPEAKER_04

You don't like hot dogs? But I That was a crazy one. If you just think anything and lied about it, that's a crazy one.

SPEAKER_05

I know. That is a crazy one. I don't know what else to say, but I will say I like them every once in a while. But I'm not gonna eat them like that's crazy. Not crazy though.

SPEAKER_08

Did you eat one on the 4th of July? We did not. If you go to a tithes game, are you gonna choose a hot dog?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

I'm not a baseball game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You have to. The tongue calls for it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

The tongue calls if it's beckoning.

SPEAKER_06

I hate the call of the dog.

SPEAKER_07

We just started.

SPEAKER_04

Call the dog. We have to lock in.

SPEAKER_01

Us missing a week is not good.

SPEAKER_06

That's not even like top five funniest things I've said. That's like the goal of the dog.

SPEAKER_07

David's least favorite food is Chipotle.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Um hi, I'm David. I'd say my least favorite food is a tie between cauliflower and asparagus.

SPEAKER_07

That's right.

SPEAKER_03

I can choke down some asparagus, but like if it calls for it, if like I'm at somebody's house and they make me food and I'm like, oh, okay. But cauliflower, not touching it. I can't. I can't. I'll throw it back at you guys.

SPEAKER_08

Do you like cauliflower crusts like a pizza? No. Oh, so fire.

SPEAKER_09

Hey, my name is Lawrence. My least favorite guy that's crazy.

SPEAKER_06

I just want everybody to know that Gracie visibly jumped into laughing the second he opened his mouth. He was like, he like looked around and was like, Hey, I'm supposed to be here. Hi, my name is Lawrence.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, we're present.

SPEAKER_09

Hey, my name's Lawrence, and my least favorite food is Brussels sprouts.

SPEAKER_00

That was my third choice. That was my third. That was my third choice. Cauliflower's not green. All right.

SPEAKER_08

Hi, I'm Greasy, and my least favorite food is spaghetti. Whoa!

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_09

Not mushrooms.

SPEAKER_08

No, I'm just allergic to those, bro. Difference. You know what I'm saying? Fair. She's like, I don't hate them. You're allergic. She said, lock it. You're allergic to what?

SPEAKER_06

Mushrooms.

SPEAKER_03

That should be one of our opens. Like, what are we allergic to?

SPEAKER_06

That's it. All of them. All of the allergies.

SPEAKER_04

Every last one. Peanut butter. Okay, my name is Kennedy, and my least favorite food is mayo mayonnaise. Is that a food or condiment? Condiment.

SPEAKER_00

That's my background. That's right. I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

What about your point? That's good.

SPEAKER_04

No, that's also bad. I'm just not, I don't like, I don't like it. What about mustard?

SPEAKER_08

What about if you make it dip mayonnaise? Morgan makes mayonnaise? Morgan makes a dip that's like mayonnaise based.

SPEAKER_04

Some of them, like uh French onion dip or like yes. But I just don't really like just plain mayonnaise. Plain mayonnaise like on a sub or like a burger. I would never pick it. I don't like it. But you know, I'm with you.

SPEAKER_08

Thank you, thank you. Yes. All right. Are we ready? Yes. I need the coleslaw. The first pocket.

SPEAKER_00

I just realized. And this is just us talking with Lawrence.

Lawrence Enters The Hot Seat

SPEAKER_08

Alright, my first topic is Lawrence in the hot seat. So everyone can ask in. Anyway, questions for Lawrence. Who's got them? Most embarrassed. Oh, it's the first one every time.

SPEAKER_09

So this happened probably 30 minutes ago. It is probably top three of the most embarrassing things that happened.

SPEAKER_08

But it also might be an embarrassing thing where it's like you had to be there.

SPEAKER_09

Yes. We died laughing. She died laughing. I died of embarrassment. I was crying.

American Eagle Changing Room Fail

SPEAKER_09

Okay, so we were at American Eagle, and she she bought her stuff, and then while she was purchasing, I was like, hey, I'm gonna go try the shirt on that I really like. She was in the change room less than 10 seconds ago, so okay, I was like, no one's in there. I ripped the curtain open, and there's a girl in there changing.

SPEAKER_07

No!

SPEAKER_09

Bro, I I peeked around the corner and I saw him do it, and his face went white. So it's the one next to me. I closed it and I was like, I gotta get out of here. We left right then and there. Did you try the shirt on? No, I put it back. No, I stole it. Nope.

SPEAKER_08

Like, I don't want it anymore. We got to the car. He's like, I mean, I really did like that shirt. And I was like, we can go back like next week. She's like, no. Like never again. No, I'm not gonna cry again.

SPEAKER_09

I look outside, Grace is dying laughing.

SPEAKER_08

Like, I was like crying. Like, I was like, Oh, it was so funny.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna have a photo of Lawrence on the door be like peeping top. Watch this man. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_07

That's my number one fear. Because that little curtain, like moves.

SPEAKER_09

It's not stopping anything.

SPEAKER_06

The wind can blow, and you can see write your name on the sign, and I'm like, that's not gonna stop somebody. I'm not reading before I go to the TV room.

SPEAKER_04

But usually a curtain closed means someone's in there, and the curtain opens means to open.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, well, the worst part is every other one was empty.

SPEAKER_08

He's like, I want the fucking way. It was like the fourth one.

SPEAKER_09

To be fair, this is the one that she was just in. So I was like, okay, I don't mentally, I was like, this is what I'm going to, but surely.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, now your next story?

Mission Trip Handshake Mistake

SPEAKER_09

My other embarrassing story, my original story, this was probably 2023, is one of the few trips and we went to take to Africa, and there was a boy that we met that was completely paralyzed from the neck down.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, what? No, this feels like so we you know he I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_09

He was completely paralyzed, and he looked frail, like he looked like he was about to pass away soon. We spent like an hour, we spent like an hour with him. We spent like an hour with him sharing the gospel, like praying over him, like all the things. Like he was very interested in knowing about Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and we're about to leave.

SPEAKER_09

I go to shake his hand, and I'm sitting there waiting for him to shake my hand.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, bro.

SPEAKER_09

And like, and the worst part, it was like not my team. It was like this like five-year-old little African boy who's sitting there, like looking at me weird. I'm like, oh. I'm like, I'm so sorry. And he's just looking at me like, bro, chill. Put your hand down.

SPEAKER_02

You think of his hand dab yourself up? It was embarrassing.

SPEAKER_09

There's probably like 50 people in the smaller room, so watching me just stand there on the hand out. Very embarrassing. Hey, but good news, he's healed and fallen Jesus now, so praise God.

SPEAKER_07

It wouldn't have happened if you didn't try to shake his hand. That's right.

SPEAKER_09

That's right, that's right. Take a minute walk.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no. That's pretty bad.

SPEAKER_03

That hurt my chest.

Every Job He Has Worked

SPEAKER_05

Okay, what is the list of jobs that you've had and what was your least favorite and your most?

SPEAKER_09

Oh, this is great. My my very first job, I worked at retirement home serving food to old people. That's the first and only job I got fired from.

SPEAKER_01

Why'd you fire?

SPEAKER_09

I stopped showing up to work because I was doing hoodlum things with my friends.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_09

BC? My yeah, BC. Foreshore BC. Foreshore BC. My second job, I worked at Harris Teeter. Bagging and Giving Tarts. Sorry. Yeah. Huh? And then after that, I worked at Fitness 19 was a gym for about three years. My job after that, I worked on a farm for about three years. Then now I work full-time at a church. What did you do on the farm? Everything. Drove tractors, like did all the. What do you think? Yeah. That was a good question.

SPEAKER_00

I took everything. No, no.

SPEAKER_03

I was the scarecrow. What do you expect him to say?

SPEAKER_04

I'm wondering if he had a job on the farm, David. Everything. There's multiple farmhands. It's not just one dude, like, I'm doing this all the time.

SPEAKER_06

Look at him.

SPEAKER_03

He could have been that guy.

SPEAKER_04

I'm saying if it's like a farm hobby farm or like your own farm, that's different. But if it's like a mass, like some people are like, just take care of the cattle or like eggs or whatever. I don't know. I'm tracking.

SPEAKER_09

So at the farm we grew, our main thing was strawberries in the spring and then pumpkins in the fall. So like we do, I do all the planting, all like the actual like hands-on stuff. I did all the hay rides, took care of the animals, all the all the fun things. Yeah, yeah, it was really fun. Super cool. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So what was your favorite and least favorite job?

SPEAKER_09

Oh, my favorite job is what I do now. I love leading high school ministry. My least favorite job was probably Harris Teeter. I was only there for like a few months, and pushing carts in this in the sun was not ideal.

SPEAKER_07

I feel bad for those people. Yeah, it was not fun.

Travel Favorites And Myrtle Beach Roast

SPEAKER_03

You've obviously traveled a lot from what you've said. Where was the first place you traveled and what was your favorite place to travel?

SPEAKER_09

Mmm.

SPEAKER_08

Start out where you were born.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, so I was born in Japan. So the very first time I traveled was actually from Japan to the State.

SPEAKER_01

You can't say that.

SPEAKER_00

He can say that. You can't say that. I'm sorry. It was too like it popped in my head.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, I'm going.

SPEAKER_09

So yeah, the first the very first time I traveled was from Japan to the States to visit family, I was probably like an infant. And then when I moved here when I was eight, and then after that, my actual first like traveling just for the sake of traveling was uh Hawaii. Does that count? Right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And the most at least the most recent. Well, what's the question? Sorry.

SPEAKER_03

The first place you traveled, and then your most favorite.

SPEAKER_09

Okay, yeah, yeah. So my most favorite is probably Lesotho, Africa. I've been there about seven times now, so we go to my church to tell people about Jesus.

SPEAKER_08

Nice. That's awesome. What was your least favorite place?

SPEAKER_09

Oh, it's good. Probably the very first time I traveled to the States.

SPEAKER_01

Myrtle Beach.

SPEAKER_07

Myrtle. Myrtle.

SPEAKER_08

The first place you go is Myrtle Beach. No hate. No hate. I love the little hate. No, the Broadway with the boardwalk's looking out of fun.

SPEAKER_03

All of them.

SPEAKER_08

With a little like the upside down Ripley's Blee Burning.

SPEAKER_06

Because I mean, they're not in the absolute infested water. The amoebas in that day.

SPEAKER_03

Capital M.

SPEAKER_08

My question is if you could be any animal, what would you be and

Gorilla Pick And Red Flags

SPEAKER_08

why?

SPEAKER_09

Oh, I love this question. My my phone clear. I would pick a gorilla. I think gorillas are super cool.

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_09

I think they're so fun. They l they live in little communities in the in the jungle, and then I think they're just really big and strong.

SPEAKER_06

Follow-up question. If you were a gorilla and a little kid fell into your R.I.P.

SPEAKER_09

Harambe.

SPEAKER_06

No. Harambe did nothing wrong. That's the whole thing. That's the whole point.

SPEAKER_08

Harambe did nothing wrong. I went to the zoo yester yesterday. And I thought about that. For the first time. But it was about it. I was like, if I fell into this orangutan thing, I was like, I don't think the orangutan would be mean. No. Now orangutan, I think it would. No, no.

SPEAKER_06

The gorilla would no.

SPEAKER_09

Or you all see Play of the Apes Maurice's like super chill.

SPEAKER_06

I have not.

SPEAKER_09

Those are Maurice. Maurice.

SPEAKER_02

Maurice's Maurice.

SPEAKER_08

I haven't. No, but I do.

SPEAKER_03

Have you seen the jungle book? Exactly. Yeah, yeah, see. No, that guy was mean. Yeah. That was there.

SPEAKER_08

That's true. That's true.

SPEAKER_06

Anyway.

SPEAKER_08

We're just going to start comparing it.

SPEAKER_06

That's our good answer.

SPEAKER_08

Okay. It was so cute. I just went like. I was like very motherly towards it. I was like, come here.

SPEAKER_02

On the glass.

SPEAKER_08

The baby. Oh my gosh, baby. And it was like up, like up the hill, whatever, and the mom was down here. And he was trying to get to its mom, and it was like kept like falling down the hill. Like it would get up and walk. She kept like rolling down the hill. It was so cute. Like, mom, go after.

SPEAKER_04

After him, get your baby, get your man's. Okay, my question is what is your biggest red flag in other people and then for yourself?

SPEAKER_01

Ooh.

SPEAKER_04

It's when we ask when they go steal.

SPEAKER_06

Apparently not.

SPEAKER_04

No comment, no comment.

SPEAKER_06

No, I think he's into that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

I think my big red flag for other people is, oh gosh, well guys. I'll kill simple. I'll go simple.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_09

If they don't ever laugh at any of my jokes. Like, I think that is offensive.

SPEAKER_08

But also, we don't have funny. We don't have pity laughs. No pity laughs. No pity laughs. Like, if it's not funny, I'd be like, that's funny, and then we laugh. But yeah, no, no pity laughs.

SPEAKER_09

My my biggest personal red flag is as a man, I'm lactose intolerant.

SPEAKER_08

You know what? That's okay. He's taken nine of the pills in one day before.

SPEAKER_09

And I had to do great stomach movement that day.

SPEAKER_08

That's right. Stomach movement.

unknown

Stomach movement.

SPEAKER_06

And you know what? You know what? I benefit from it. Because as a fellow lactose intolerant person, Lawrence is always packed. We're cooking. I already know. If I need a pill, he has a pill and the tube, Wilson.

SPEAKER_07

What are in those pills? What kind of magic? God's favor. God's favor. Like, I wonder how many you have to take to like overdose.

SPEAKER_09

No, I Googled it. You can take as much as you want, and there's no negative effect.

SPEAKER_07

Wow. Yes. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_03

How many have you ever taken in one sitting? They're the most probably nine. Nine?

SPEAKER_09

No, in a day in a day.

SPEAKER_03

Not in a day. Okay. You said in one sitting. I was like, I just got nine.

SPEAKER_00

I can tell.

SPEAKER_03

He's like, I'm about to eat an entire tub of ice cream.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Your

Desert Island Movies Debate

SPEAKER_06

question, Morgan? I have to ask every time what are your three desert island movies? Oh, I hate this bullshit. Oh good.

SPEAKER_09

Surfs up. Go ahead. Um Transformers 1.

SPEAKER_00

Oh! Yeah. Yeah.

unknown

Peek.

SPEAKER_09

And I'll probably go inside out.

SPEAKER_04

Oh.

SPEAKER_06

Good choice, good choice.

SPEAKER_03

I like the first two.

SPEAKER_04

Cody. Let me be me. Oh, Cody's me, bro. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Let me be me.

SPEAKER_08

Alright. Is that everyone? Yeah? Okay. The next is. You survived. Oh my gosh. Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Teachers Who Made School Click

SPEAKER_08

Oh, I love this question. I love a start. Oh, you get to make the topics and you get to start. You're right, I'm sorry. No, you're fine. Um, my favorite was eighth grade civics. Are we saying names? I would say last.

SPEAKER_04

Like, not where they could be itemed. I'll say that. Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_08

Miss M, my goat. She's the one who really gave me a passion for history, and I really want to teach eighth grade history eventually. She just made history so fun. Like we were like, for during like the world wars, she like would make like trenches with the desk and we would like throw things at each other, and it was just like and like we built the Berlin Wall. And like it was it was just really fun. Well, wherever you want.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

It wasn't in that way, okay? It was just it was fun. Okay. Anyway, I just love her. And also, like, she was like a little mom. You know what I'm saying? Where she just like really nurtured you.

SPEAKER_04

So she's killing herself over her own joke. Anyway. Okay, so I was homeschooled. So number one is my mom. But I mean, I do like copes and other things, but when I got to the sixth grade, we did like Bob Jones online. And I had a teacher, my science teacher, won't say her name, but she was really great. Like she was really funny, and like it's pre-recorded video, so there's not there's no interaction, there's no like live like back and forth, but she was like just really great and made it really fun, even though it's like really hard to teach kids in that way. But yeah, so she'd be my favorite. But number one, my mom, shout out. I feel the need to reiterate. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Besides math, you you don't do that again.

unknown

Everything else is fine.

SPEAKER_03

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_06

That'd be pretty good. Um this is hard. I I loved like almost all of my teachers. Like there's very few that I didn't like at my school, but I would probably say um, I'm gonna almost know that. Um, she was my I had her for chemistry and for oceanography, my goat. I fun fact suck at science. Awful at it, not naturally gifted there at all. At all. And I literally, this is this is so humbling to say. I did not know how to do a word problem in a science class until I had her in the 11th grade. That's it's humbling. I literally, every time I was just like, this is so stupid. Word problems in science? Like, I mean, in general, velocity and stuff, yeah, just in general, yeah. Every time I was like, what the nuts is this? And so literally, like every other class I was fine. I just distinctly remember, like in the middle of the test, or like it was after test, like called me up. First of all, she was like 26, 28, and I was like 16, 17. So like immediately, like everybody loved her because you're like, you're chill, like you're young, or whatever. Oh, which I still have her phone number today this day. I'm like, no, and I just distinctly remember she like came up and she was like, I'm not counting this against you because I know you know how to do this. And she was like, literally, watch what I'm doing right now. And she crossed and she took a blackout Sharpie and crawled out everything but the number, she's like, do do the problem. And I was like, Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Like, right, right, all right. That's a good teacher though.

SPEAKER_08

Like when they let you go back and fix and not be like, wrong, move on.

SPEAKER_06

Like she taught you how to like that's the and like I had bad test anxiety, and I think she like clocked it because she literally she was like, Stop changing your answers. She's like, I sit there and I watch you take the test every single day, like, stop, like you're fine. Just breathe, like calm down or whatever. I was I don't know. But she was so chill. One of those teachers that you could just like go to a room in the middle of the day and be like, what's that? Yeah, love.

SPEAKER_07

My favorite teacher was Mr. T. He was my French teacher for all four years of high school. I mean, he was so sweet, like old man vibes, like he would come in with his little loafers, like burks, like clogs with his jeans and belt. Um but he was so sweet, like every for every kid's birthday, he would always ask the culinary teacher to make us my birthday cake. And so because mine is in the summer, I lied and said that mine was in September, so I could get a cake. Um eat a cake, hello. That was enough cake, but he was so nice, like he would always like have like party days and bring in like French foods for us to eat. And yeah, I worked at a restaurant a few years ago, and he came in and I saw him, and he was like, Oh my gosh, how are you doing? I haven't seen you in so long. And it just like made my heart happy to know that he remembers me. And so once he found out that I worked there, he came back like every month just to see me. And I was like, Stop. That's sweet. So yeah, he's a super nice, super nice guy.

SPEAKER_05

So I was also homeschooled until ninth grade. So I have to say one of them has to be my mom. But I also had I really liked my AP lit teacher in high school. I think it was because I I wasn't like a huge fan of English, but like she made it really interesting. Like, cause we're going over like poems and stuff, and it doesn't make any sense. But somehow, like, when she explained it, it was like really interesting. So I really liked her because she made something that I thought I wasn't gonna like really interesting. So I thought it was really cool how she engaged everyone. Like, I think everyone was enjoying, like, oh, like I never would have thought I could be so interested in a poem. And then in college, I really liked my physiology professor. Like that was one of my favorite classes, I think, because he was just really good at explaining what we were learning because physiology is not easy, but when he would explain it, it was just fascinating to learn like about how everything in the body works together, and so I was like, wow, I'm actually learning. Actually, actually, I'm learning things. Whereas other classes sometimes it feels like you're just put like information is just going in so you can take the test. But I felt like in some of those classes I was actually learning, so those were cool.

SPEAKER_03

I too was homeschooled. Speaker trailer, so I would I don't even remember the names of my like first couple teachers because I um but I will say my mother's mom was a very good teacher, other than when she was trying to teach me how to write in cursive. I don't know why. That was like the biggest rage bait for her. All my memories of my mother being angry at me as a kid was that.

SPEAKER_04

Because she's really good at it and she's upset that you're doing it wrong.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, because I've always just naturally I've had really shaky hands. My handwriting, even to this day, isn't great. Dude, it's like I would like write like again and again, like pages and pages. She'd buy these like thick books and make me write like multiple pages a day, and I still couldn't get down.

SPEAKER_00

She was like, Well, I can't jump this job.

SPEAKER_03

It's like but other than that, she was a really good teacher.

SPEAKER_04

No shut up It's another cockroach.

SPEAKER_08

And I think there's like a salt guns for like somebody give me this shoe. No, it's okay to leave it. That's high.

SPEAKER_05

Ain't no way.

SPEAKER_00

I can get on. It's okay. No, you can't.

SPEAKER_04

If it attacks us then. I'll watch it.

SPEAKER_05

Now I'm scared he's like looking for his partner.

SPEAKER_03

No, but I'll say my mother was a very she was a mom, back to your mom.

SPEAKER_07

Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_03

She was a very good teacher.

SPEAKER_07

When's the last time you've written in cursive?

SPEAKER_03

I do for work. But when I do for my signature, I just do my initials, so it makes it. What are you laughing at, huh?

SPEAKER_06

Bro. Sorry. Made me think of a story. That's my fault. I was trying to.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

I thought Morgan handwriting at college. Handwriting or I have absolutely chopped handwriting.

SPEAKER_06

It's so bad. But apparently my A's are like the worst part of my handwriting because I don't like. Do I need to not close it or like horrible? Yeah. So she brought home sheets of like the lined paper from a classroom she was like working in at the time and was like, sit down. And I was like, That's a good friend. No, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

She said, sit down.

SPEAKER_06

And I did, I will admit, and it was just not just her like doing it. I was like, I actually really want to fix my hand. Yeah, that's true. It wasn't like she was like, you have to do this. Like, I was like, I hate this. That's so can you can you help me fix my hand? Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Alright, I have two favorite teachers. My first one was my second grade teacher. Second grade is my first year here after I moved from this from Japan. So I was like low-key hating America. She was super kind and helped me.

SPEAKER_08

What's her name?

SPEAKER_09

Mrs. Mrs. Morgan. I can't say that, right? That's right. That's fine. She was awesome. She was very kind and made me think that not all Americans are mean. My second favorite teacher was Mr. S. From I can't say where. Mr. S. He taught all like the like fun electives. And my nickname in his class was Panda Express. Whoa! Well, almost all the guys had a nickname that was highly inappropriate. He said I was a fake Asian, so he called me Pandexpress. That's crazy. Quick story. This is the the year after I graduated. They took away USA Day at Spear at Okay, keep going. At the school. Just got USA Day he dressed up as Border Patrol and didn't let students who were not into class.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, we might cut.

SPEAKER_08

But I mean I mean that's an awesome story.

SPEAKER_04

If he didn't say where it was, then it's fine. I just want people, yeah. It's fine. Okay, my fault, my fault. No, you're fine.

SPEAKER_06

You're fine, you're fine, you're fine, you're fine. Do you think do you know how many things that have to get cut up essay every episode?

SPEAKER_04

Sometimes in the moment, sometimes in the moment, I'm like, oh, that was not good. And then it was like back and I'm like, bro, it's fine. I leave it on.

SPEAKER_08

It yeah. This is Mr. Rich is gone. I never had him, but he was actually crazy. Like the fact that he's he's not teaching more teams. But the fact that he was for so long is actually insane.

SPEAKER_09

He had a picture of Osama Bin Laden on his dartboard lineup and throw darts at it. Bro was a nut. He was a magic.

SPEAKER_00

That's insane.

SPEAKER_03

So uh with you know from your first story to your second story, what do you think about Americans now?

SPEAKER_09

I love America. Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Um next question is what were your favorite school memories?

Favorite School Memories And Awkward Phases

SPEAKER_08

You can get like one or a few or whatever. Mine, probably I loved high school, to be honest, like hot take. I loved high school. My like junior year was peak. I had like my friend group, we were all tight. We were all in like SCA together. And so, like, but like it's a class, but like not at the same time. Like, our teacher would be like, Hey, go to Chick-fil-A and get me. She was also pregnant. She'd say, Hey, go get some food. And I'm like, Yes, got it. And we would just walk out in the middle of the day. It was so fun. And like one day we were in the miss high school pageant, and I wasn't in it. I had to be backstage because I was in SCA. And a girl dropped, two girls dropped out like the night before. We were like, Oh my gosh. And like the boys who they're supposed to be dancing with now didn't have a partner in the opening number. And so she was like, Gracie, and another girl was like, You're you're exempt from all school today. Your goal is to learn that dance for the opening number. So I was in the opening number of our miss pageant. So it was so funny. It was a blast. So like that kind of stuff was just fun. So like not really school, but like the fun school activities. I liked that kind of stuff. So the fun part of it. That's fine. Loved it.

SPEAKER_04

And then I just do your worst or your least favorite part of it?

SPEAKER_08

Oh, my least favorite part of it was first grade. I hated first grade. Not COVID. Oh, that's true. No, I don't want to be like that. COVID, not senior year. I'll take that. Margaret's got it. Um first grade. So I went to a private school my kindergarten year. And then my first year in public school was first grade. And it was fine. Just my teacher was just not. I love my kindergarten teacher. She was very like kind, like sweet, but like my first grade teacher was very just like not loving, not caring, didn't care. And I'm like, hey, like we're first grade, we're babies, like you can love on us. And I also have severe anxiety as a child. And so I think that also played into a factor in it. And she took away my recess because I couldn't finish. It was like a punctuation worksheet. And she made me like miss all recess, and I was ticked.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, that's fine.

SPEAKER_04

I would say my favorite was third grade. I think that was like peak, like school was still super duper easy, but you're still like a kid, and like life was just simpler, right? Carefree. You could do a bunch of things. I was in like I did science and PE in a co-op, so that was really fun to like be with my friends who went to my church and stuff and see them throughout the day. Least favorite though, I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I would have to say if we're going through all school ages, probably senior year, just because I was stressed out because I had not decided on anything. And then also you have to do school, and I was like, okay, this should just not, you shouldn't have to do both, right? I should take a year, but yeah, I think so. Or freaking fourth grade, because that's when I had to learn a long division. I still can't really actually anymore. I haven't had to do it. That was gonna be my confession, I was I can teach you I used to know because one of the things my mom would just make me do is practice long division, but I now I can't. I can't. It's just so painful.

SPEAKER_03

That was that was gonna be it.

SPEAKER_04

That was gonna be it for me, dude. Anyway, go ahead.

SPEAKER_06

Um, okay. My favorite thing in school, I also loved high school. I I think probably right around junior year was peak, but also because our senior year didn't happen really, that's probably why because like we got the first half, the build-up, but nothing like to whatever. But no, I just loved like doing like music stuff. I miss that I bro. I was a band kid, and I genuinely missed that so much. Okay. Hey Killin, can I see your signature role?

SPEAKER_03

Before Gracie taught you, can I see yours?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

She went back to her old ways. No, I mean it didn't stick. I did not do my worksheets.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but I just love like band and like that, honestly. I would say that my band director is Ty for my favorite teacher, and he comes into the coffee shop that I work at still to this day and says hey to me, it's real sweet. That's pretty cool. But no, yeah, I just like love that aspect of it. That's where I like fell in love with music and like all that. And even like I have like a speech, I don't know, that like junior year was peak because of like so much. I was like in the in my I don't know, I can't remember the word I'm trying to pick up. And David just said something insane.

SPEAKER_03

You did it first, that's why. I was gesturing.

SPEAKER_06

Gosh. Um, but I was also in like a DE speech class that year, and one of the things we had to do was like improv for that class, and I freaking loved, I ate that thing off. Like, I literally think this is the best class I've ever taken. Like, it's so much fun. I would love to have seen you do that. Have you seen her goth look?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_08

No, okay. Show us. She used to be low-key emo. But then one day she was on the morning announcements where she went full goth.

SPEAKER_06

Not morning announcements. What was it for? We this is so humbling. I was on like the prom committee, we were trying to fundraise, and we were putting on like You are Peyton Sawyer.

SPEAKER_07

Pream Peyton Sawyer.

SPEAKER_06

We were putting on like a dodgeball tournament to raise money in the community, and we had to do a promo to run on the morning announcements. And okay, well, I guess technically it was on the morning announcements. That's my fault. But if it was for that video, I didn't think about that. So cream cheese. So cream cheese. So cream cheese. And I'll pull the picture up on it. Anyway.

SPEAKER_03

That's gonna be our joke. We're gonna work for like two weeks now.

SPEAKER_06

So cream cheese. No, yeah. So I just, yeah, I would agree Junior Speak. That was, yeah, just part for everything, I feel like. Least favorite part. I don't know. I feel like okay, middle school was like a really weird time, like right before any of my like friend group came into the school. And so I was just kind of like deep op and around. It was like a true middle school experience of like, okay, like I have one friend, like maybe two, and I was like, I would have been your friend. Yeah, that's right. That's right. But probably that's probably not.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, oh no, probably not.

SPEAKER_06

I thought she said that would have been. I was like, oh no, we would have been friends. You would have been like, why are you listening to Bring Me the Horizon at eight o'clock in the morning?

SPEAKER_08

It's a fan. Like, call me maybe Carly Ray Jeffson, like, no, look at the me the kill 30 seconds to Mars.

SPEAKER_00

That's why we were. That's right.

SPEAKER_07

I would have loved to see you guys in high school.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, before we move on, yeah. Do you think if you all met in high school, would you guys have been friends? Obviously, you talk about we were not.

SPEAKER_08

And we went to high school together.

SPEAKER_09

Oh I think if we were on the same grade, we would have been friends. After I started following Jesus.

SPEAKER_08

I don't know. No, because we did go to the same school and we were not friends. And you had mutual friends. And we had mutual friends.

SPEAKER_09

That's true. If we were on the same grade, maybe. But yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Maybe, maybe, yeah. That's fair. But our calves were like this. So they could have. They could have.

SPEAKER_06

Are you saying that because that's when the urn started? Or it did start.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, it started early. Five years. Five years. Purgatory. Felt like it.

SPEAKER_07

Let's see. My favorite part about school would probably be. I loved, I totally forgot about this, but my choir teacher in middle school, I had him all through middle school. He was a believer, and like he was really cool. Like he'd pray over us in the mornings and stuff like that. And I that's where I loved singing. Like I first started really getting into singing. And then I'd say freshman, uh probably a hot take. My freshman year, probably the most fun year because I think like me and my friends would write like all these things are now happening, all these new clubs and stuff like that. So we just did everything. Like we did drama, we did the dance team, we did like everything. Yeah. That's tough. Yeah. We just wanted to do like a little bit of everything. Um, yeah, so I would say freshman year of high school is funny.

SPEAKER_06

Um, did you find the picture?

SPEAKER_03

You found the goth photo, send it to the group.

SPEAKER_06

Send it in the group chat. Do I have to send it to the chat?

SPEAKER_00

You've shown me this. I know.

SPEAKER_03

No, you have to send it to the group. Send it to the group.

SPEAKER_04

Are you wearing a black and white stripe? I think she's shown it at Chick-fil-A before.

SPEAKER_06

I might have shown it. Yeah. I sent it. I sent it. This was also, mind you, oh the red is crazy. Seven days since the barefoot guitar picture, by the way.

SPEAKER_08

Hey, why is your face so red?

SPEAKER_06

Is this in July? Because they did the color grading for it in the thing. They put a huge filter, and I was like, guys, I look absolutely I'm about to pass out.

SPEAKER_07

Oh no.

SPEAKER_06

Morgan.

SPEAKER_03

Morgan, this might be the most peak photo I've ever seen.

SPEAKER_06

That's Morgan at peak is for me. Well, because the whole point was like, we're all supposed to be the opposite of our personalities in the video. And so, like, they were like, Morgan, you can't laugh. Oh, the emo, and it's dead quiet. And I kept on messing up the video. Because they would like start talking. Because we got one of our teachers to do it. And she was like the funniest person ever, also up there for one of my favorite teachers. And she's like doing this whole bit, but she knew I was gonna laugh. So she's just like looking at me the whole time. And then she like starts like yelling at me in the video for a bit, and I literally was like like you're okay. Alright, I'll be quiet.

SPEAKER_07

Sorry, my phone, my phone. No, no, no, that's good. Yeah, say freshman year of high school. I think all of high school was pretty fun for the most part. Worst part about school would probably be. I will say I'll go back. I loved like in elementary school, like playing kickball, like having recess, like we'd bring like mancala and play mancala. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so worst part about school, I was thinking about this earlier, and I think it was middle school, and it all kind of went downhill referencing another story when the guy liked pants meat. It was pretty that was pretty tough times in my life. I don't know how I recovered, but I actually don't think I put your hero. But you're hero.

SPEAKER_05

Um I think I have like favorite memories from when I was homeschooled and when I was in public school. When I was homeschooled, it was nice because like it got to a point where I was kind of teaching myself. And so I wanted to, if I wanted to knock out like a lot of my lessons in like a day, like I think there was one time where I just was like, you know what? I'm just gonna knock out math for this week. And I did all of my math. I did the same thing, yeah. And so that was kind of nice to have the freedom to do that, just more flexibility, and then I was I think I was better, a better student in some ways because I had to be like teaching, like my my mom was teaching like the younger ones, so like I had to teach myself stuff and be more like self-motivated. So that was a good thing. Let me see. I really enjoyed though when I was in high school, like public school, all my choir stuff that we did. So I was in choir all four years, and we did like trips, like there were certain trips that we went on, and those were really fun. Like the one time we got to sing with Kristen Shenowitz. Oh, yeah, so fun. That was that was a lot of fun. So stuff like that was really cool.

SPEAKER_07

Like I never would have gotten that experience if I didn't go to Was it a culture shock when you went to public school for ninth grade? That's insane to me. You like walk in, see somebody doing drugs.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go.

SPEAKER_07

I was like, oh no. Oh no, I love it. It's like all those indie movie, like song sequences, walking in a slow mowing. 21 drumstreet, but it's very great.

SPEAKER_05

It was it was a shock. And my outfits, freshman year of high school, like, yeah, we're homeschooled. So first day here. I look back on some of the pictures and I was like, yeah, they probably all knew I was homeschooled. Um, just outfits alone. But yeah, but it it got better pretty fast because the girl I sat next to in my homeroom, like first day of public school, we stayed friends like throughout the rest of high school. So I feel like that was kind of God like giving me a buddy at the very beginning, be like, hey, you just stick with her, you'll be fine. And we weren't in all the same classes together, but she still was someone that I could go to for like help and stuff. And she was really smart too. So I feel like it she helped me like not only adjust to public school, but also just with school. Yeah, a least favorite memory towards the end of college, I was just done. Like I was just ready to be done because I was like still going to school, working a couple jobs, tired all the time. And like, I think that was, you know, towards I think my junior year of college, between sophomore and junior year, I think is when COVID happened. And so at that point, I was like, this is just not this is just work, this is just like another job at this point. So yeah, I think I was just ready to be done toward the end.

SPEAKER_03

Say, I mean, I was also homeschooled, so it was like it's hard to say, but I did do a couple of like co-ops and stuff like that. That's where I met some of my closest friends. I remember that was a pretty fun time because the two that I'm thinking of, you you guys know. I don't want to say their names because I don't want to bleep them out, but no, don't give him hype. The cringe older brother and younger brother Older brother, I was actually closer with than the younger brother at first. I I hated the younger brother. Really? At first because he was cheaper.

SPEAKER_04

Our friends know who you're talking about. Also, he was on the No, I've told him. Oh, okay. I've told him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so okay, I can say Okay, yeah, Daniel and his older brother. I was actually closer with his older brother at the time because we were both crazy about Harry Potter. Or not Harry Potter, no. Doctor Who.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I know and I've got the pictures to prove it. Yes, I know you do.

SPEAKER_03

I know you do, Tyree. Did I mention how beautiful you look today? Wait, I didn't hear you. But um no, because he it was it was a stupid meme at the time, and he just would yell it all the time, and that's why I didn't like him at first. And he knows this.

SPEAKER_06

That's why it's the meme is a group chat.

SPEAKER_03

I I'll say it's the puppy monkey baby. What? Do you remember? It was like a Mountain Dew commercial.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that would have annoyed me too.

SPEAKER_03

I hated it. He said it all the freaking time. But now I would say it's a little bit the reverse, just because we're closer in age. Me and Daniel have grown very close. I'm still very close to the older brother as well. But me, you know, having that, like, we're practically brothers, so I would say that's a very high, you know, pretty awesome time. I'm not gonna lie, most of high school sucked. Because I was like just trying to find myself. I had a lot of bad friends at the time who just I did, I probably had every phase but an emo phase.

SPEAKER_02

Like that was like no boy, wake up!

SPEAKER_03

That's like the one phase I didn't go through, which thank god, because that will never be that there's like no nothing out there of that. Cause I would I if one of you guys found a photo of something like that, if it existed, I would probably never see you guys again.

SPEAKER_01

So you know how I feel.

SPEAKER_06

You sent it in the group chat. We'll play it back. You said that, you have to send that! You said that willingly. Why don't you do it?

SPEAKER_03

You said that willing But yeah, I would say kind of more so beginning to middle of high school is rough just because I was trying to find myself and it was a really awkward time in my life. Overall, not the worst though.

SPEAKER_09

I would say my favorite year of school was definitely sophomore year, specifically summer 2016. Peaked on many, many different levels, but sophomore year. I had a really big friend group that were friends all through high school, and a lot of them are still friends today, so that was a lot of fun. Honestly, all four years of high school I loved. I looked back and it was, even though I was a heathen for most of it, it was great. And the senior year was probably peak of my life because it was different stuff. My least favorite was probably the switch from like freshman year to like sophomore of college because of COVID. It was like peak COVID. And I was commuting 30 minutes to go to school every day, and I was feeling all my classes at a 1.7 GPA. So then I hey true.

SPEAKER_01

She laughed.

SPEAKER_09

So I left school for a while and now I'm still in school, but I kind of like it now.

SPEAKER_08

That's right.

Last Meal Picks And Comfort Food

SPEAKER_08

The next question is a little switch up from school talk is what's your last meal on earth? You can choose anything. Mine is my favorite. It's crazy. Since Mary Gary said her lease your finger is hot, mine would be hot dogs from this little restaurant that me and my dad used to go to after softball. And it's like our restaurant. And I don't know. I'll go there and I'm gonna get hot dogs with him.

SPEAKER_01

That's good.

SPEAKER_08

Were they boiled?

SPEAKER_07

No. I said ask.

SPEAKER_03

It just reminds me of a store.

SPEAKER_04

I don't like boiled hot dogs. Nice one. Okay. I would say if it's my last meal, I've just gotta go pizza. I don't know if it's my favorite food, but like you gotta end it with like from where we're going.

unknown

Ooh.

SPEAKER_04

Like fast food pizza? Oh no, no, no. No, no, no. Have you guys noticed saladies around here? Yes. What is like authentic New York style? New York. But then also, you know, like garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, a salad, like all of that. All together. You gotta go go big or go home, right? Carbs, all of it. Carbs. But then mostly the carbs. It doesn't really matter what. If I'm going home, I'm going home. I'll go home.

SPEAKER_06

If I'm going home, you know at church. I'm in the Yeah, so I think I have to do that. Fair for fair. I think I have to go, probably like something like homemade by my mom. I have to be like, I don't know what it would be. Look, she this woman. That's my dessert. A cinnamon roll of mist thing. Yeah, I have to get y'all have reached the point where you should have had them by now. Oh man, so that's on me. Oh well. Next time they happen.

SPEAKER_09

Trust. I could vouch they're good.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yes. We did not suspect. Who are you? No, it isn't. We had recently had a friend in college where he literally would like constantly text me and be like, so what is the next time your mom's gonna make cinnamon rolls? Oh my god. Oh my god. Well I do. But no. So something homemade, I don't know. Literally anything that she makes. Just like a good like family meal, like all together. Like that would be my like.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. So because the people you're spending it with. That's a good answer.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. She said, if I'm going home, if I'm going home.

SPEAKER_01

Home. The place.

SPEAKER_00

I'm home. Give me that triple dipper. Stop. I didn't think about that.

SPEAKER_08

Nah. No, no.

SPEAKER_07

Sorry, no, sorry. No, no. Um, I would say you said cinnamon rolls, and I was like, wait. When I was in Indonesia, I had these fire cinnamon rolls because like they had like pure cinnamon trees in Indonesia. And it was like I think I cried. It was so good.

SPEAKER_06

Was that post pepper or pre-pepper?

SPEAKER_07

Post. That's what I needed. Because I was on the way home after the pepper. So wrong way.

SPEAKER_00

If I'm going home.

SPEAKER_07

If I'm going home. I also said pizza, because pizza is my favorite food, and how could you not? But I was thinking, I was like, but where from? Because I feel like I there's a lot of good. I've had a lot of good pizza, but not one that's like, okay, if this is my last day on earth, like it would be good enough. But we've been watching this show, so I was like, so my answer is pizza, but Gordon Ramsay has to make it. Yeah. So that's what I'll do.

SPEAKER_05

Hmm. I don't know. I feel like I was having a hard time deciding between like some comfort food, like some southern like comfort food, like specifically my grandma's like green beans, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, like all of that. No grandies. Oh grandies. Yeah, so like basically southern comfort food and then breakfast food. I love breakfast food. I love a breakfast sandwich. I love bacon, egg, and cheese, hash hash browns, avocado toast, like a big breakfast buffet might be my last meal. It's kind of a torn between the two of those. I don't know. Hey, both.

SPEAKER_07

Both. That's good. David.

SPEAKER_03

This is a hard one. There's so much, there's so much food out there right now. Like a sushi boat from like my favorite sushi restaurant. Oh my gosh. I could just that's that's easily up there. But then also like homemade food from either one of my parents. Like it feels my dad'd have to be something like barbecue. Like his ribs or his wings, or even one of the steaks he makes, or my mom with like uh she makes a really good chicken teriyaki or like lasagna. I'm like, oh my god. It's a tie between sushi, my dad's ribs, or my mom's chicken teriyaki. It's a tie between those three.

SPEAKER_07

Have them all.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, honestly. And I could sit down and eat all three of them in one sitting, probably.

SPEAKER_07

It's your last meal. Have them all.

SPEAKER_09

If it's my last meal, I'm throwing in some sushi, some fried chicken, some steak, and some fresh biscuits with some apple butter.

SPEAKER_03

No, this this guy eats. This is a real this is a real eater right now.

SPEAKER_04

Nice.

Library Study Room Chaos Stories

SPEAKER_08

Yes. What? No, me and Mark one time. It was me, Mark, and Ryan in college. We were starving. Femished, if you will. So bad college students, and we were like, we just want crack barrel. And then we would crack barrel, and the biscuits were literally like golden. Oh heaven. I can't, like, let's put that highlight on them.

SPEAKER_06

And the light. The best part is that we must, it was actually, I think we were with one of our other friends as well. Because right afterwards, we got because they were so good, we got a second order of biscuits and we went to a study room, and then we ate those biscuits in the study room. We were like, let's get some take back for like just half of the door. We went to go with like to work on stuff, and then like we were there for like two hours, and we were like, gosh.

SPEAKER_08

To go to the study room. In the library. We always had a spread in the study recording. But that for like three plus.

SPEAKER_03

She got like a food boil back there.

SPEAKER_08

We have a basic schedule or things were like one person would schedule it for like three and a half. We did one person schedule it for three and a half. So then we had it for like six hours. Oh, that's so super small. Like dining halls right next door. We would go and get like a plate to go, bring it back. We had like a fry plate. We had liberty. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like sandwiches. It was so fun. And we would we would book rooms with media capabilities so that we could put softball on the TV while we did work. So like we're watching like NCAA softball. We're like have a feast with our friends. Yeah, we've got studies.

SPEAKER_03

That sounds like the best.

SPEAKER_06

That's probably like peaking. We're like we're texting creature. We're like, guys, come to the crazy call. We've got it for six hours today.

SPEAKER_09

The function. So fun.

SPEAKER_08

But like we have friends who like legit were like hardcore science majors. And then like guys, like, and I'm like, what? We're like, yeah, it'd be funny.

SPEAKER_06

No, we literally sorry. This is one we convinced one of our best friends. This little time, this is the funniest thing I think Gracie and I've ever done in our lives. We were in a study room. And we were like, dude, did you know these things are soundproof? And she's like, no, like, no, they're not soundproof. We're like, no, like they updated like the thing over the summer break or whatever. Like they installed new glass. So it's gonna be so you're so mean. And she was like, literally, no. And I was like, Gracie, go outside, or like I was like, okay, Gracie, you stay in here. We're gonna go outside, you're gonna scream, and we'll tell you bring in here. Like, come outside with me, like listen to her scream. So Gracie stands in there and just goes, fake screams, fake screens. Face red, yeah, veins popping out of her neck, like screams loud as she can, quote. And I was like, see, it's like it's soundproof. And we're like, yes, like obviously. And so we're like, just we're like, just scream, just scream. There's a video off the show. It's in the top of her lungs. And then literally everybody hit the main part of the library right next to us. I fall to the ground, and I'm like, only thing you see in the video is her feet going like this on the key. No.

SPEAKER_03

That's so mean.

SPEAKER_06

It was perfect. It was just perfect person. I go, Miss you love you.

SPEAKER_07

Love you, sister.

SPEAKER_03

Before you went on that tangent, you were talking about biscuits from Cracker Barrel. But also, but think about it. Texas Roadhouse Rules. Yeah. Yeah. Texas Roadhouse Rolls. Literally, I think my record is 32 in one sitting. No. They kept going. I think they wanted just to see.

SPEAKER_06

Don't bring me to the basket, sir. Sir, let's take your keys. I'm gang! Please put your shirt back on.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_07

That was the morning.

SPEAKER_02

You need to leave. Put your shirt back on.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_08

Dang it.

SPEAKER_02

Dang.

SPEAKER_08

Alright, our next

Confessions About Money And Adulting

SPEAKER_08

question. And last question. What is something that you are too scared to admit that you don't understand or know? I have two. First one, Bitcoin. But I think that's valid. I think a lot of people don't understand. Even people who like Invest in it don't understand it. No, no, no. And they're lying.

SPEAKER_07

If they say they do. Exactly. They're lying. Because it's not real.

SPEAKER_08

So I'm told. My the next one is why do we have to rotate our tires? I don't understand. And I don't need someone to manage me. Why we're saying in general? I don't understand when we're driving them. They're doing what?

SPEAKER_04

Rotating. Yeah. Mine is similar with car maintenance. Like, I just don't. Just a lot of it. I don't understand it. It's not that I don't understand that is important. I understand that. And I understand when the light for whatever comes on my car that is important to deal with that. But I don't know how it works. Like I can't comprehend how to do it. Like, similar with long division. I understand that it's valuable and I need to know, but I don't actually know the steps to complete it. So yeah, I just I would be get like I'd be taking advantage of. If I went to like a place and they were like, yeah, you need to get blinker fluid. I'd be like, okay, well, suck me up. I guess I'll get to the floor. Premium air.

SPEAKER_03

Like every mechanic's dream to scale. Like straight up. She goes to.

SPEAKER_04

But my father is their nightmare. So it actually, I could see that. Go for Morgan.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's gonna be vulnerable. Taxes. Hey. Hey, I said it. Hey, I said it. I said hey. Look, I'm lucky enough that we have a family friend that for her like pro bono stuff chose our family to do taxes for my parents, and they still are like, we put Morgan in on that because I don't know what I'm doing. Yeah, so it's not even like the process of taxes. It's I I literally I do not understand why the property tax exists. If I own the property, if I own the thing, why do you have to tax me on that? I don't get it. Something about the Boston T bargain. Yeah. Something about the Fed. I don't think they even know. I think they're just like, you know what? Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_08

No, imagine your identity being sold three times and doing taxes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

No. It's horrible. I also, okay. When I say this, I don't mean that I don't literally understand how they work. I do, I don't understand, similar to the property tax, why we have them or need them. Traffic circles, beta my existence. Hey, never once. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, roundabouts. No, I like them about I freaking hate roundabouts.

SPEAKER_01

I love roundabouts.

SPEAKER_06

Every time I enter one, I'm like, somebody here doesn't know what they're doing, and it's gonna cause an accident. At least, at least one car in the freaking roundabout does not know what they're doing. And it ticks me off. Hey, so just as we've Maryland.

SPEAKER_03

Morgan, that's you in the roundabout.

SPEAKER_06

That was only one time. Okay. So it just, yeah. I just hate them. And I think we shouldn't have it. Hey, make it a four-way stop, make it anything else.

SPEAKER_08

Four-way stop is harder than a roundabout stop.

SPEAKER_00

You suck for me to take honestly.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, and that's my truth.

SPEAKER_07

Would you rather the roundabouts or the turn from the left lane, like area? You know what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_06

Okay, no, I don't know what they did over there. That is like the third level of hell. Okay. What they did there, they're like, we're gonna make a constant flow intersection. And then it's a constant stop intersection. Like, I've never stopped.

SPEAKER_07

It's a perpetual stopping.

SPEAKER_06

It's perpetual stopping. Like the island of perpetual ticket. Maggie Tails reference.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, I'll go. Hey guys, I'll go. I would say stocks because I wish I could understand. And I tried. I've read several books. Can't understand it. And it makes me upset because I'd be so rich if I did. But I just can't. So if you want to do it, I'd be so well. I would do it so good. But she would do this upside down. No, it just confuses me. And I actually think that I haven't logged back into my so I might be losing money. Guys, I might be really poor, actually. And I probably should check on that. But yeah, so stocks. And then I put on here, like honestly, so really of an answer. Sometimes, like I don't understand social cues. And like if it's a really serious situation, like I will sometimes laugh and or like if somebody tells me something, I just black out and I just don't hear what they're saying. But I'll always be like, oh yeah. And like that has messed me up so many times because somebody actually tells me something like, hey, it's my mom died, and I'm like, cool. But I'll realize it at like three hours later, and I'm like, no. I won't do that.

SPEAKER_03

She's in bed about to go to sleep, correct?

SPEAKER_07

No, why did I say that? It's just so sometimes I just don't know what's going on. But yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I will also be vulnerable. I speak your truth. One, just well, you said insurance, but like just, I don't know, getting all of just everything that you need when you get a job. Like the health insurance, all the insurance, the 401k, all of that stuff. Like, I just I'm not good at it. And I need probably someone to sit me down and walk me through and be like, okay, this is what you're doing, and this is what you need to be doing. And that would probably help me a lot. And then Tyree mentioned the show we're watching. It's with Gordon Ramsey, and he's like traveling all over the world, and it reminded me, and I was like, okay, extra vulnerable moment. I really don't understand geography very well. I'm like watching it and I'm like, that's there? Really? Like, really? And so I just don't really know where stuff is. And it was like they were in Africa.

SPEAKER_07

Or they're in Morocco. They're in Morocco. And she was like, where's that? I was like, oh, I think it's in Africa. She's like, in Africa?

SPEAKER_05

Really? Really? So back when Kennedy, I think it was your hot seat, and you were going over the places you've traveled. I'm like, this is actually very educational for me. So yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What have I said? Because yeah, she was like, is it a country? I'm like, yeah, it's right under like the Netherlands and like she's like, so it's a country. Yeah. Yeah, it's very funny. I thought it was in the UK. Like, is it in Germany then? Like, well, no.

SPEAKER_07

I thought it was, I think I thought it was in the UK. Like it was like a state of the UK. But it's a country.

SPEAKER_00

It was helpful for me too. Hey.

SPEAKER_05

We were all learning during that episode. So yeah, I just don't really know ourselves.

SPEAKER_04

We used to have one right here.

SPEAKER_07

I just felt the spirit of that map in this room. The essence of that map right here.

SPEAKER_01

Alright.

SPEAKER_03

Long division. That's one that you and I share, can be. But then also, I don't know, the idea of like the yearly time changes. I think it's so dumb.

SPEAKER_07

That's a good thing.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's so dumb. Like I'm like, like I understand the reasoning. It's like for like back in the day, it was because of like farmers or whatever. Man, get with modern times. Stay one hour all the time. It just confuses everybody. You either gain or lose an hour of sleep, and that still messes up everybody.

SPEAKER_06

Everybody stupid.

SPEAKER_07

Everybody.

SPEAKER_06

It's a good answer.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

I'm still on the tire irritation thing.

SPEAKER_07

That's so valid.

SPEAKER_00

Dead silence. He's itching to say something.

SPEAKER_07

I'm holding it back.

SPEAKER_00

I'm itching to comment.

SPEAKER_03

I was gonna say that and then the price of makeup.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I think that's so weird to me. Because like I all my sisters will be like, oh yeah, I had to go to the store and get this and that. And I was like, and they'll break down how much it was. I was like, what? I'm like, how are you not broke? I was like, this explains why you're broke all the time. Brokey.

SPEAKER_07

Brokey.

SPEAKER_03

It's just it baffles me on how expensive makeup is. It's so freaky. Lawrence, give me your shit.

Cockroach Panic And Makeup Prices

SPEAKER_06

For contacts for our lovely listeners. Um David just actually smacked the crap out of the cardboard on the wall, but it he hit it so hard that it stuck to the wall death. I just decided that every episode.

SPEAKER_00

It's empty. What else? David!

SPEAKER_07

It's gonna spot off! Get it in there! It's gonna start going on this.

SPEAKER_02

You shouldn't.

SPEAKER_00

And you're just gonna be able to do that.

SPEAKER_04

I I just decided that every episode we're gonna kill a cockroach. I thought it was so funny the first time.

SPEAKER_00

What? Wait, rewind me when it you don't understand.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, let's travel.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

And this is travel.

SPEAKER_09

Alright, this might be embarrassing. And I scientifically I understand, but then it still confuses me is time zones. When you travel, the time is right, but then you travel back and the time flips back and forth. Like I get it, but like every time it baffles me. Another thing was like the nation's debt, how we're so in debt, like to paying that room. Or the fact that's like why just make more money, you know, like just print more. On top of that, who do you owe it to? And on top of that, the fact that there are so many like billionaires and millionaires, yeah, people are broke, that's crazy. But the mean, we were talking about this earlier. What this is something like makes me mad is how like barbers and like makeup artists and hairstylists, like they they or like even photographers, they charge a ridiculous amount, like hundreds and hundreds of dollars or something like that does not cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

SPEAKER_08

And specifically, what he's talking about is in like the wedding industry.

SPEAKER_09

Wedding industry is a scam. It's what he's talking about. It's a scam. It's a scam. Yeah. That's so real.

SPEAKER_04

Because if you say, oh, this is for my wedding, they raise the price on cakes and stuff. You say it's for your birthday, it's a scam.

SPEAKER_08

Well, when you said makeup, literally today I had to go get makeup for the wedding on Saturday. And he was like, I was like, how much is this gonna cost? He's like, 40 bucks. It was like 75.

SPEAKER_03

And it wasn't like No, like one thing of like eyeliner is like 40. Like, and that's like a cheap one, right? Yeah, it's crazy. I no. No, uh maybe my sisters will have a really expensive taste.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'll take Walmart.

SPEAKER_06

I'm sure Walmart. Not my elf eyeliner. No, it's not my elf. Now you're out of yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Not my Nitz.

SPEAKER_06

Out of it. How are you though?

SPEAKER_04

I shot at Mary Kay. My aunt. Is that it? Mary Kay! Thank you, Grace.
