Kennedy's Hot Seat Episode
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Kennedy finally takes the hot seat, and what starts as a goofy “what shoe are you” question turns into a full personality map. We talk about her real work life in early childhood education, and why she’s aiming for kindergarten through second grade once she finishes her degree. If you’re curious about teaching, childcare, and the behind-the-scenes reality of working with toddlers, she gives the kind of answers you only get when someone is being both funny and honest.
Then we let the conversation do what it does best: swerve into the stories that somehow explain everything. Kennedy shares the childhood creativity that still shows up in her life, from building forts and makeshift “inventions” to taking on the big-sister organizer role. We get her desert-island movie picks (rom-com lovers, you’re welcome), including While You Were Sleeping, Fools Rush In, and The Hunger Games. And yes, we go there on irrational fears, including lockjaw, tetanus panic, and the very specific nightmare of losing her left arm.
We also hit travel and identity: why Belgium completely surprised her, what makes food feel authentic when you’re abroad, favorite animals, and her Canadian side, including famous Canadians and spicy takes on Quebec. We wrap with what she hopes people see in her, what younger Kennedy would be proud of, and what matters most right now: faith, family, and the future she’s building.

Shoes And The Hot Seat Setup
SPEAKER_02Hi guys, welcome back to Just Us Talking. Today we have Kennedy in the hot seat. Yes! So excited to learn about Kennedy. If I was a shoe, what kind of shoe would I be? I'm gonna say my white vans. Just because I wear them all the time and they're very versatile and yeah.
SPEAKER_06Hi, I'm David. And if I were a shoe, I would probably get I'd say Converse. Just a classic good. High top. High top Converse.
SPEAKER_03Very good. A little shucks. Black?
SPEAKER_06Black and white.
SPEAKER_03That seems familiar. Yes. I am currently wearing them right now.
SPEAKER_06And it is the only shoe I wear.
SPEAKER_03I am Morgan, and similarly, I would be Nadia Samba, which I am also wearing right now.
SPEAKER_06How about the classic brown ones? That we you always wear.
SPEAKER_04Brown with a little suede. Brown suede.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_04My name is Gracie, and my if I was a shoe, I would be a bluntstone. Oh okay.
SPEAKER_00My name's Kennedy. If I was a shoe, let's just go polar opposite. Maybe like a high heel statement shoe. I'm fine.
SPEAKER_03Okay, she wore heels on Sunday this time.
SPEAKER_00I used to have yeah, a really big thing with high heels. Used to always wear them. Because I'm a five-two curly.
SPEAKER_03And this is I did not use my shoe chocolate.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry. You usually start. I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_03It's okay. Hi, my name is Tyree. If I wore a shoe, I'd be a sandal because I love wearing sandals. I think I would specifically be what? Dogs out! My dog's out. My dogs aren't pretty right now, but I'd be a sandal. Very good. Stop working. This is just Kennedy talking. Alrighty, straight to the one and only in the hot seat. And I'm back in my original spot. I can see all of you. Yes. I'm always in the hot seat. I did not like sitting there. So you're so brave.
SPEAKER_00I can see everybody. That's yours. Everyone can look at me. Don't look at it. Sobrade, Kennedy. You're a leader. Yes. I'm a leader. Yeah, you're a leader.
SPEAKER_02How are you feeling before your hot seat?
SPEAKER_00A little bit nervous because I don't know what you guys are gonna ask. It's hard to prepare. Because we have like 95 questions that were put in the chat, and it was kind of like, well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I actually dropped up a brand new list for you guys.
SPEAKER_06Alright.
SPEAKER_01Perfect.
SPEAKER_03Perfect.
SPEAKER_06Alright, let's start off strong. What was your most traumatic memory as a child?
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. And you know what it is, actually. I've shared it before.
SPEAKER_06Maybe we'll cut that out. I just wanted to share it.
SPEAKER_00It's a good joke. It's a good joke.
SPEAKER_04What? What what
Jobs, Childcare Work, Teaching Goals
SPEAKER_04kind of jobs did you have growing up? Oh god.
SPEAKER_00It's a very short list, I'm not gonna lie. I first started out babysitting when I was 12 and did that.
SPEAKER_06Child labor.
SPEAKER_00I loved kids, so like doing that in my church was like awesome. Then when I was like 16-ish, I started working at my dad's company just in the summer, like doing some filing and stuff. And like we'd always help out growing up, like cleaning job sites or like working on little projects. Yes, yes, yes. So being an Epo baby, it was pretty great. I climbed right to the top. I continued to do filing and like learn some like simple bookkeeping stuff, whatever. And then someone from our church reached out to me when I was 18 and I got a job at a learning center, which is where I currently work. So very short, but yeah. Very good.
SPEAKER_03So even though it's very short, which one did you hate?
SPEAKER_00And which one did you love? I don't think I've ever hated work any of my jobs. Uh any of my jobs, like I love them. Like my dad, the when I would work for my dad, it would get kind of boring, you know, filing like it wasn't for me, but I still liked my job, and I like my dad's company and the people that work there. At the learning center, it can get very stressful and like overwhelming dealing with so many kids. So, like, there are days where I'm like, this is the worst, but then there are other days where I'm like, this is so like fulfilling and the greatest. So I can't really pick. And some, I mean, honestly, probably some kids that I babysat for where it was like, ah, I don't like doing this for you. It's horrible.
SPEAKER_03So maybe ask, what's the difference between a learning center and daycare? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's just basically the same thing. It's educational daycare. So like we do have a curriculum and like we do learning stuff. It's like a little preschool basically. We're just not like certified. So it's cheaper for those families. Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_03What do you mean? Do you teach you teach them stuff? Me? Teach them stuff? Non-dragonary. I really and Kennedy has met before.
SPEAKER_00I do. Well, I'm the quote unquote teacher of the two-year-old class. So you know, I'm not like teaching them really much. Like we have like ABCs, colors, numbers. Like there's certain like developmental things you have to like keep them on track for. And then like we're a Christian institution, so there's Bible stories that we do and little things like that. But so yeah, I mean, I'm not like really teaching teaching them. Do you think you'll stay in like the twos and threes preschool age, like that long term, or do you want to like what's your once I get my degree, I'd like to do like kindergarten to second grade would probably be my ideal age. That's what I love the most. If I could choose where I I could be right now, I'd be in the four-year-old class in the pre-K4. I did that like in the afternoons for a season, and it was like awesome. Like that is like such a cute age, like adorable, but like they actually listen. Like two-year-olds, it's like just a tornado all the time. And you're like, guys, like, can we just sit down? No, we can't. We can't do that because we're two. But it's okay. And I love them.
Inventing Stuff And Sibling Memories
SPEAKER_02So I know you've mentioned before how you liked to invent things as a kid. So what was your favorite invention that you had?
SPEAKER_00I mean, definitely one of my favorite ones I'd already shared on the podcast, but was like making like go-karts out of things. So like old car seats and a boogie board and like any wheels we could find, we'd create stuff like that. Yeah. It was always like we'd be building forts outside, so but it would be like huge. Like I'd be impressed with what I did. Like, we just get every piece of furniture from outside the house, inside the house, and just like build like a huge uh fort. It's like this is the kitchen.
SPEAKER_02It's like actually like mothering. Mother's mother.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Or like I made a swing out of a kayak seat in like old rope, and that was like hanging there for like a long time.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to think. It was always things that like could possibly be torn down once my mom found out that we had done it, and she's like, excuse me, no, get all of this out of here, put it back where it was. So it wasn't like crazy constructed. But then, like growing up with my dad, I like actually built things like the shadow back. Yeah. Really? Not by myself, but helped out.
SPEAKER_02I was getting ready to say, how do you think your skills of like building and inventing things have helped you now as an adult?
SPEAKER_00I think it's like a creativity thing, basically. Like just having that mind for it. Also, like my mom ran like an at-home daycare, so we always had like four extra kids with us. There was a lot, and it was just like something to do, right? So it's like, oh my gosh, like let's make our own little like stations of shops, and like so. I'd build like a little nice like lemonade stand for them. It's like we'll go around and like it was just something to like do and like keep the kids entertained. So I think that that's a lot of it, like just constructing things for like other people to enjoy. I like it. A giver.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, a giver. Okay. Yes.
SPEAKER_06What's your favorite memory of you and your siblings? Like, what was like your favorite thing to do with them when you were younger?
SPEAKER_03So, Kennedy, for those of you who don't know, is the eldest daughter, so she's the most important member of the family.
unknownYay!
SPEAKER_02One that holds everyone together.
SPEAKER_03The glue. The glue, the glue, the glue.
SPEAKER_05The glue, the glue. David, that's not debatable. That's a known fact.
SPEAKER_06Yes. The dog.
SPEAKER_00I love that guy. I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think. I mean, I just loved, like, I feel like I've already shared a lot of it on the like childhood episode that we did, but like just being outside with like our neighborhood friends and like playing with them and like jumping on a trampoline. That was probably the most fun, was like being on the trampoline doing crazy games, then someone gets hurt and it's like, don't tell mom, don't tell mom. And like just coming up with these insane games and also playing like family and stuff, and like creating those roles, like, oh, what's your name gonna be? It always ended tragically, like there's a fire, you're now dead.
SPEAKER_07Like it's so that was every kid.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I was always the oldest growing up, like in every friend group, so it was just nice to be like I mean, like the mothering role, kind of of like, oh, let's do this and I'll help you do that. Yeah. I don't know, like favorite memory of what we would do together, though. I know we've got some good stories. Looking at Gray and he's just shrugging his shoulder, like, I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03He's like, I've actually never heard of anything. Ever. Ever. Ever. Yeah. Oh my goodness.
Desert Island Movies And Rom-Com Love
SPEAKER_03I feel like I have to because I ask it every time. But what are your desert island movies?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_03I meant to prepare for this and I did not.
SPEAKER_04Um changed mine the night. Like, I went home and I texted her and I was like, actually, they are this.
SPEAKER_00And see, I know that's gonna be my problem. I was like, I'm gonna look back at this and be like, oh, I should have said this if I've said that.
SPEAKER_03Equally, though, you because like the ones that Gracie sent afterwards, still very gracie movies. And I'm like, oh yeah, like I could totally see that. Like, yeah. So I know you have such good taste. If you end up on a desert island, you don't have time to prepare. So that's what you would have said. You know what? And you have to do that. Yes. Thank you. And that's a lot like life.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_03And you can prepare more.
SPEAKER_02And you know what, guys?
SPEAKER_03These are just the movies that I have in my back pocket.
SPEAKER_05These are my satchel movies. My bagoo.
SPEAKER_00I'm definitely a rom-com girly.
SPEAKER_05Your high heels.
SPEAKER_02So with our high heels.
SPEAKER_00No, I love rom-com. So my number one favorite one is while you're sleeping. So I apologize for that. I watch that all the time. It's just so sweet. It's so like is it a Christmas movie? Kind of. Technically, it happens during Christmas time. I don't consider it a Christmas movie. I agree. It's kind of like you've got mail, where it's like, is it kind of sleep as in Seattle? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. It's like not Christmas E, but it gives that vibe.
SPEAKER_04But it gives that vibe. And it's just very sweet. And I love how you hear.
SPEAKER_03Can we give a quick synopsis for David? Because he does not know. No, look it up. For the men in the room who don't know.
SPEAKER_06I was asking Mary Grace trying not to make a big movie. While we're filming the ball.
SPEAKER_03If you don't know it by now, then you don't deserve that.
SPEAKER_06You're making it a big deal now, Tyree. You're making it a big deal.
SPEAKER_01Who's the same for her favorite movie? Okay. I'd love to share. I'd love to share. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00No, so Sandra Volk is the main character. Loves him. She's in love with a guy she's never even talked to, she's never even spoken to before. Okay. The quote in that movie is amazing.
SPEAKER_06He sounds psychotic.
SPEAKER_00He falls on a railroad track. And she saves him. Well, prep she works at She works there, yes. She works there, yeah. So she saved him, and then he's in a coma. She meets the family, and the there's miscommunication, and they accidentally think that this is his fiancee. And she doesn't have the heart to tell him because he's about to die. And she's like, sure, he's my fiance. She's like trapped into it because the family's really great. And they're like, oh my gosh, we love you. Anyway, she falls in love with the brother that she meets at Christmas, and she's actually in love with him. But she's like, maybe low-key, the guy in the coma will die, and then I could have the brother. That doesn't work out. The guy in the coma wakes up. Wakes up and he's like, You are not my fiance. And they're like, he has amnesia. That's why he doesn't remember him. So they end up, they have to get married, they're having their wedding. He reproposes to her because he's like, I've got to, I don't really remember you. It's just so funny. At the altar, you know, he's like, I can't do it, but I will say I think I've seen a clip of that one.
SPEAKER_06It's like when she's like breaking down to her boss or something like that. I've seen that clip. I've seen that clip.
SPEAKER_03It is a fantastic movie. 10 recommends.
SPEAKER_00Sandra recommend. Another rom com that I really, really love is um Fool's Russian. It's one that not many have seen, but it's really, really great. Again, similar vibes to while you're sleeping, just very lighthearted, but like it has a good message. Also, one of the greatest love quotes I've ever heard is in that movie. By yours truly, Matthew Perry. So great. He's the love interest in that one.
SPEAKER_04And it is best. But then I feel like I have to bounce it out with something. Wait, what's the what's the thing he says? Or she yeah, he says.
SPEAKER_00Get the list. Should I pull it out? It's on my Google Doc of favorite movie quotes. And I know exactly which quote quotes. And I have a I have a Google Okay, one thing about me, I have a Google Doc for anything that's important to me. There's a Google Doc of it. Yes.
SPEAKER_03And the next podcast episode of Google Docs. I can't remember it. We're reading our notes after the doc. Okay. You got to cut that. Hey, cut up. In the future cut, we'll get it.
SPEAKER_04I say no cut.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what it was, but this is the quote. Okay, um, are you guys ready? I mean, I was actually worried that I'd already met the woman of my dreams at the dry cleaners or something, and I was too busy to notice. But then you show up, and I realize that that's not true. Because you're the one. You are everything I never knew I always wanted. I'm not even sure what that means exactly, but I think it has something to do with the rest of my life. Just the way you have to watch the movie when she's like standing, like her car, like she stands up and she's like, get out of the way, I'm trying to move. And then he's like panicking. He's like, No, like you can't leave. Like, I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. Like, it's you. Like, I thought that this moment passed me by, but like, ugh, I just love it. I want that happening to me. Who's the fools rushing?
SPEAKER_03Fools rushing. Fool's gold's also good. Very different.
SPEAKER_06Very different vibe. What's the female leads? Uh, what's the actress's name?
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_03Salmo Hayek?
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Never see your shoes. You just know.
SPEAKER_00No, watch it. Put it on your list. It's so great. Anyway.
SPEAKER_03Who'll do.
SPEAKER_00And then I feel like I have to have something to balance that out. To balance it out. I'd almost not that I want to match with Gracie, but maybe Hunger Games. Yeah. First one. The first one. The first one, okay? I feel like the first and the second, like, are basically the same. Like they just go together. But I think I would have to go the first one. I think that'd be my answer. I love the Hunger Games.
SPEAKER_03Honestly, do you think it's the way to go? Because I don't know if you're like me with this, but whenever I watch Catching Fire, I'm like, and now I have to watch the rest of the series. Right. Yeah. And like now I have to finish this. Now I have to watch it.
SPEAKER_00But that one, it's just kind of like, mm-hmm. So I think if I'm trapped on a desert island, I don't want to keep having that feeling. Yeah. Like, oh, I wish I could see the thing. I think I'm gonna.
SPEAKER_04That's true, because after she's taken out the arena, you can't do it there. You're right.
SPEAKER_03And you can't see her in PETA. What a night. Oh, can the third movie be a box set? Put them all together.
SPEAKER_07The Muppets saga.
SPEAKER_04I had an addiction to the Muppets. To the Muppets. Which ones? Like all of them? Because why? Well, just the Muppets as a whole, as a family.
SPEAKER_01As a little cream as a family.
SPEAKER_04I had a Kermit the Frog water bottle. Like I got bullied and said it was like Miss Piggy in middle school. Hey, that's crazy. But I love Miss Piggy, so I said thank you.
SPEAKER_05What was your name? What was her name?
SPEAKER_03She's gonna call them out. I can't remember her name. Yeah.
unknownI love Kermit.
SPEAKER_03And off of that, Kevin, if you were a Muppet, what's your name? Oh, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Miss Piggy, of course. With her high heels. With the high heels.
SPEAKER_06That should be our opening for next week. Which Muppet would we be?
SPEAKER_00That's a good one, actually. Yeah, I'd have to think on it. Because I don't feel like I'm like as like bougie as Miss Piggy.
SPEAKER_03Miss Piggy gives Teresa Caputo. I feel like you'd be Miss Piggy, actually. If I'm piggy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Did you know? Did you say Miss Piggy is Teresa Caputo? Yes. Sorry, I was like, Teresa Caputo adjacent. Yeah, I mean absolutely in your awesome thing. So sorry. Let's get back on the Kennedy center. Well those would be my. It's okay.
SPEAKER_00So those are would be my movies.
SPEAKER_03Very good, very good. That's good. Great choice. What
Irrational Fears And The Left Arm
SPEAKER_03was your most irrational fear as a kid?
SPEAKER_00So I don't know. Okay. I have some weird ones. Okay. First, well, this is my I'll start with my second greatest irrational fear, even as a kid, was getting lockjaw. I'm afraid. What? I've imagined it. I don't know if you guys remember the one time we were going to play pickleball, and I was like, I just had to get tetanus shot, and you guys are like, what? I got cut by metal at a gas station. I'm just very afraid of getting lockjaw. I remember you talking about that, yeah. Yeah, not so good. She got shim. I had her shiv. It was just like metal like sticking up. You know how like there's like the concrete where the gas pumps are, and then there's like metal rim. It was like sticking up and it was like rusty, horrible. I was wearing Birkett socks and it cut my toe. And I was like, I'm fine, but it was bleeding a lot on my drive to I was going from my dad's work to the learning center. This is when I was like part-time at both places, and I was like, not so good. So I went there. I'm sure I didn't have tennis tetanus, it's fine. But I do just hate to get tetanus and get lock jaw, and there's really not that much they can do for tetanus.
SPEAKER_03And wait, so what causes lock jaw? Is it physically tetanus?
SPEAKER_00Well, I think there are other ways you can maybe get it. I'm not 100% sure. It's a big one. I try not to think about it too much because I don't want it to happen. It's uh happen to me. So have you had what's the what's the fascination with lock jaw? You could just your jaw could get locked, and I don't know.
SPEAKER_06That is scary. I have that's a video.
SPEAKER_03It's stuck. Do you know somebody that did that? No, I didn't think I saw a video maybe. Hold on, never hold your mouth still in the same position for 30 seconds. I would dead silence. I would then like hyperlate and like joke and show.
SPEAKER_00I just can't, I can't have it. But my number one greatest fear, this is maybe a bit more bit, I don't know, is losing my left arm. I think about it all the time. Yes. That's a fear? I used to want that. I'm left-handed, yes.
SPEAKER_06I don't know why. I know why you want it. Soul surfer.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Oh my gosh, I used to pretend Hamilton. I'll be like, Oh my gosh, yes. I want attention back.
SPEAKER_00I just know. Bro, that's crazy. I just know the the depression would eat me alive if I just depression.
SPEAKER_03I'm not even left on the body.
SPEAKER_00Just think about it, you'd be like the lizard before you became lizards. Then you can do paralytics. Oh, I can't, guys. I can't function without my left-hand lunch. She would be a constant. Are you mirroring to the right? Yeah, she walked to the left arm.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay, that makes more sense.
SPEAKER_00Um for some reason, I think this is scientifically proven. I don't know, I'm gonna say it anyway. Girls, calm down. I what? Okay, sorry. Like left-handed people, like my right hand can't do nothing for anything. It can't. It's worthless. It doesn't do anything for me. It's okay. I'm not sure. She's right there. She's right there. But like, I feel like right-handed people, they can use both their hands a bit more than left people, left-handed people can. Usually, I'm pretty sure I saw a study on that. Don't someone fact check me. But anyway, that is the case for me. I lost my left hand. You might as well just kill me because that is the end. So that's my number one crazy.
SPEAKER_06Do you think that you'd be better at trying to like use your toes than learn how to use your right hand? Is that like is that's like we're Bethany does it.
SPEAKER_05Bethany does it. Hey, we don't talk about my feet, guys.
SPEAKER_00They have been through it. They're damn it.
The Cabinet Crash Toe Origin Story
SPEAKER_07What?
SPEAKER_04What? My next question: what's up with your feet?
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Let's see them know. I actually don't think I've ever seen you again. Oh, that's the post for this week.
SPEAKER_00We're going live. Yo, I'll tell I'll Justice talking feet finder account. I'll tell the story of it. They're kind of like my big toe's like bent in, and then there's like a huge gap. It's because. Let me paint you the picture of it. Oh. It's about show me the picture. No, no, no. I gotta tell you the story, and I'm not gonna be able to do that. I'm gonna use the picture. Of not what how they look, how it happened to me. Okay, my feet were not always like this. This is a big story. Can we just calm down? Great. You know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00My dad asked me, Can you go get a tape measure from the garage? I say yes. I go down to the garage. Bring it back. Come on. Lock it. Okay, I go down to the garage. I can't find the tape measure. I'm looking everywhere. I open this cabinet that I never open. It's full of our like Christmas, like nice glass stuff. It's so heavy. I open the door. This is Brian's fault, my father. He missed the studs on the wall, which he won't admit to this day. I open the cabinet and it just starts falling. The whole cabinet? The whole cabinet. And this is like a heavy-duty cabinet off the wall and comes down and I back up and it crashes down to the ground. And I'm like, I'm fine. I'm fine. Mind you, I have a very high pain tolerance, but like literally I felt fine. Go up. Your foot chopped off. My mom's like, like, why are you bleeding? Like this foot is like gashed and it does not look so gross. This foot is fine. Something else happened to it, but that's later story. Now we're we're on the topic. Might as well. We're gonna start with this one. Let her finish. Let her finish. It was horrible, and I was like, I had a soccer game with one of my great friends, and I was like, I have to. Before she moves to Thailand, I have to do the soccer game. She's like, you can't even fit your foot into this cleat. Like, you're not going. I was like, please let it go. So yeah, I can show pictures later. It was horrible. No, we did not go to the doctor. Did you make it or something? So we did not go to the doctor until the day after. Because I was like, really, I don't think it's broken. But then throughout the night, like pain. I asked for more pain meds, but my mom was like, it's like I can't give you any more. And so I was just like taking a shower like every hour to like like because like warmth was like helping you. I don't know. It was not so good. So then they took me in the morning and I did not break it. It's called a bone bruise. I think the doctor just told me this to make me feel better because again, one of my worst fears is not actually being hurt and then going to the doctor and finding out that I'm not actually hurt. And he was like, they hurt way more than a break, they just are easier to heal. It's like inside your bones, so like the pain's worse. I don't think I believe that. But anyway, so I had to like have a boot and crutches for a little bit. And it was Vale's like first birthday, so unfortunate. But anyway, my toe's been messed up ever since. And I'll show you guys the pictures of the side by side. It's not good. And then my other toe, that's just embarrassing.
SPEAKER_03You have reference picks for your feet? Well, okay. Why are you gonna make it joke like that? I'm joking. It was joking. Gracie don't say what you're gonna say. Can I continue?
SPEAKER_00Anyway, then maybe like a year later, I just try and like hop over this like beanbag we have in our house, and I miss, and I like trip and it like tangles my foot, and then I land down on the ground and like hit my knee, and I was like, oh my gosh. Like, yeah, anyway, my my toes have always been janky since then, and it's fine.
SPEAKER_03But no, and that was the process of shaping you, and that was that's how I was shaped.
SPEAKER_00My toes were shaped. At least your toes, yeah. At least she was formed. That's the way I was formed. So yeah, this is a funny story. But my dad's like, Why are you swinging on cabinets while you're trying to look for a tape measure? I'm like, I wasn't, I just opened the door. Swinging on the case. So that's the joke till I die, is that I yanked the cabinet off and I did not just fall.
SPEAKER_03Right. All because Brian didn't want to get out his stud finder.
SPEAKER_00He yeah, he couldn't. I remember holding up the cabinet for him while he was doing it. He's like, I can't really find it. I think this is good, and just did it anyway. I was like, bro. So little did he know. That's like worker's comp or something. And I know, yeah, he did feel bad. He just candidated it.
SPEAKER_03Y'all got toe coverage, y'all got toe coverage. We call that kind of shirt the shoe. What?
SPEAKER_04Guys, move on. What is your what's your favorite animal and why? I
Favorite Animals And Canadian Identity
SPEAKER_04really like foxes.
SPEAKER_00They're so cute. And when you see a picture, I'm like, oh my gosh. And I'm kind of right now, like, into otters. I love videos of them. I love otters. And I know I've heard they're vicious, so I'm like, I just I don't know, but they cry a lot. I think they're adorable. And Great always wanted a pet otter as a kid. And when he was three, he asked our mom if we could get one. She's like, Yeah, totally. If you ever find one in the wild, like we'll keep it. Because she knew you ain't finding an otter in the wild. So we would hold on to this. Like, mom said we could get one if we ever found one. I think it is. It's a good way to let your kids down easy and be like, oh yeah, totally. I'd say yes, you just have to find one.
SPEAKER_03The last time I looked it up, which I don't exactly remember, but I think it was illegal to own one in the United States. But it's devastating. That's devastating. It was devastating. Good thing they killed. It is legal in Asia, apparently. Where we are. Where we are.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Kennedy, I have one last very important question before we go to the deeper question. Okay. I'm going to teach you to rank your top three Canadians of all time. Yeah. Because those of you who don't know, Kenna is Canadian. Um her family's Canadian. Canadian. If we haven't talked about it a bunch on this podcast, I feel like it's a running bit, but it is.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Let me think about this. I would probably say first Ryan Gosling, maybe. Good. It's a must-have. Ryan Reynolds. Okay, double Ryan. So great. Double Ryan. Canadian. From Vancouver, if I'm not too strong.
SPEAKER_03They're from the same batch or something. I don't know. You know, maybe Canadian. Second test.
SPEAKER_05Yay.
SPEAKER_00Cut it. Cut it. And then who else? Shania Plain. Did I actually like oh yeah. Justin Black. Absolutely. She has to be on there. Shania has to be a fan. No, I'm not a big fan of Justin B.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. That's fair.
SPEAKER_00I love like anytime I'm in Canada and it's like during the Olympics, they're like, we're gonna pummel the Americans. It's like we're the greatest country. We have Ryan Reynolds. Like it's always like a big meal. Every commercial, it's like we beat them in this, and we have Ryan Reynolds. Why? Why is that so important to you? Like, he's famous because of our movies, thank you. Like we have universal healthcare. And Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds fun. I had some everybody. Mint mobile. I'm with my aunts and uncles. Like, this is just not very Canadian of us. Like, we would never do this. And I'm like, well, okay. They're just like, yeah, pummel the Americans. They get heated when it comes to that.
SPEAKER_03Specifically for the try to rage bait us, but it's not gonna work. But it won't work. It won't work.
SPEAKER_06That being your entire personality. Just Ryan Reynolds and beating America.
SPEAKER_00When it comes to the Olympics, yes. Otherwise, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03And so what's your personal take on Justin Trudeau? Good.
SPEAKER_00Bro, he's not our prime minister anymore. Thank the Lord.
SPEAKER_03So what do you think about French Canadians? Ooh. I hate them.
SPEAKER_00Never, never, okay, I've never actually been there. I only hear things, but never go to Quebec. Because Quebec is like this like fenced in part of Canada, basically, that where they're like mean to you if you don't speak French and you go there, and they're like trying to keep their culture and they only speak French and like blah blah blah blah blah. They're just rude. They're like just normal French people, but you're in freaking Canada and they won't like acknowledge your presence.
SPEAKER_03North America, act like it. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So not a fan of that. But I do think it's cool how a lot of them speak French. My mom went to a French school growing up, and it's cool. Okay. Bilingual.
SPEAKER_08Nice.
SPEAKER_00Does she know some French? She used to be fluent. Now, not as much. Duolingo helps her out a lot. I don't really like to hear her ever speak in French when she says she can.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02She's on Duolingo. Yeah, Duolingo, of course. Street.
SPEAKER_00So yeah.
Daydreams And Travel Favorites Abroad
SPEAKER_02What was your so when you were a kid, or now? Like your dream or like what you would daydream about, like little Kennedy, like if she's gonna go to her happy place, what would that be?
SPEAKER_00Like dreaming about like my future, basically. Or as a kid, like even a really little kid. Like I think back and like, why was I so young thinking about this? But like being a mom was like all I ever wanted, and like being with little kids. So like that's probably what I would lean to. Like, oh, I just can't wait to like I'm the boss of these people. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, but in all seriousness, like actually, like that was like my main, still is like my main goal. Try to think what else. Yeah, I'd probably say that. And then like a silly, more silly, like happy place, like while I was a kid was like traveling. So like going at the time my dad's parents lived in New York, so we'd go visit them a lot. And then my mom's family lives in Canada, and so like traveling to see them. Like that's always like a happy place that I would think of growing up.
SPEAKER_02So what's your favorite place you've ever traveled to?
SPEAKER_00Favorite place I've ever traveled to would probably be Belgium or England. Yes. So one of my dad's sisters, she had lived there. I went in 2024. I was planning to go by myself, but then my other aunt joined me, which I'm very thankful for because international travel by yourself. I mean, I've done it to Canada, but that's like the same. Like it doesn't matter. But going like across the ocean to a place where they don't speak the same language as me, a little bit stressful. But I was pleasantly surprised by Belgium. I had a lot of expectations for England, so maybe that's why it was like, oh yeah, it fit what I thought. But Belgium blew me away. It was so beautiful. It like touches France and Germany, Germany, and the Netherlands, so it's like got all those cultures mixed together, and the food is great. Like I'm a dessert girly, and they're like known for that. It was great. And then like their buildings are very like French, but then they've got it was just an amazing experience. So it's probably my favorite.
SPEAKER_03This might be a stupid question.
SPEAKER_00Is Belgium in Germany? It's not in Germany, it touches Germany. It's a small I have no idea where it's at. No, it's fine. It's so it's in the like if Belgium is here, we've got the Netherlands, we've got France, we've got Germany. Yes. And then we've got we've got Luxembourg right in the middle. So yeah, it's its own function.
SPEAKER_03I've only been to Busch Gardens, so they don't have Belgium and Busch Gardens. They just the thing is, is like Belgium-like. So if I'm looking at the first house, which way do I turn? If I'm not verbal, then where do I go?
SPEAKER_01If I'm coming from Belgium Hall, where would I go?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03If I'm which dance, where do I go?
SPEAKER_00No, it's a dumb country. It's just a dumb country. But it just it's not a good thing. It's good at like perfecting what the other countries that it touched. Like Germany's known for beer, but like Belgium does it better because it's a smaller country and it like really crafts it well. Nice. And like, you know, France is known for like their cheeses or their bread or whatever, but Belgium can do it better, in my opinion. I've never actually been to those countries, but stereotypically, like the things that those countries are known for, Belgium's just kind of more like like the mom and pop shop of it. And it's like it's better because like you guys really took it in you.
SPEAKER_02Bel Belgian chocolate.
SPEAKER_00Yes, Belgian chocolate, Belgian waffles.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Lovely, lovely. No.
SPEAKER_00The food there, the food there I had was amazing. Also, like when people are from that place and they're making that food, it's different. Like some Italians are there, and like we went to place best cappuccino I've ever had. But like it's not in Italy, they're not close to Italy, but like an actual Italian was making it. Like things like that where like you really get to experience authentic people's, yeah, it's authentic because it's their culture, and it was just so, so cool.
SPEAKER_02Love that.
SPEAKER_00Love that. Very good. Yeah.
Hobbies, Wakeboarding, Skating Dreams
SPEAKER_06Uh I was going to ask if you had any like small hobbies or like interests that you haven't had the chance to do yet, what are those interests that you haven't had a chance to get into or you know, try out yet?
SPEAKER_00I wonder if there's new ones. I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Also, you could go off what you do. What are your interests currently and what do you want to get into?
SPEAKER_00My interests currently, I love to bake a lot. I love it. I wish I could do it more, but like time-wise, it's hard. But like something my family really enjoys too. So, you know. Who wouldn't? Who wouldn't? Be like, look, freshly made cookies. I don't know. Things I'd like to get better at. I have like my boating license, so we um staying together. Staying together.
SPEAKER_06So do I.
SPEAKER_00Um so like being on the jet ski is really fun, but like I'd like to get better at like wakeboarding. I can't water ski for the life of me, but I still am trying. It's so hard. But I can wakeboard for a little bit, which is great. And knee boarding is fun. My mission, because I've only done it one time, is to 360 around it. And it's like it's very complicated, but to spin all the way around while a boat is pulling you on this tiny little thing. I've only been able to do it one time. And Brooks can do it so freaking easily. So that's one of my goals. Let's not mention him again. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We actually we've lived out his name.
SPEAKER_00Um trying to think, I'd love to get better at like art. I used to really like to paint and draw when I was younger. And then I don't know if there's ones that like I could actually like accomplish. Like, I've I wish I could have been good at skating and like ice skating. Girl.
SPEAKER_06Because that's something my everything's possible.
SPEAKER_00Everything's possible. But it's you're not. You're Canadian, it's in there. No, I know. Wake up. In Canada and where my dad grew up in New York, like skating rinks are just around. Like they, you know, basketball courts, how they are around here. Theirs are like lowered a little bit. You fill it with water, it freezes. They ice skate and they play hockey all the time. I'm saying that it's all around at playgrounds. You can just go ice skating. We don't have that here. I'm not trying to explain how ice works. I'm just saying. And how does water how does it work? I'm just saying their basketball courts are lower, so they can fill it with ice. Do it. Anyway. No, so it's just like a free thing that everyone's so good at. Here, you have to basically take out another mortgage to play hockey or learn how to skate. So I had taken skating lessons when I was a kid and like got my certificate for ice skating or whatever.
SPEAKER_06You need a certificate.
SPEAKER_00Well, you just got one. It was great. If you're good, you get one. And uh instead of a medal, they don't do that. Anyway, no, I'm kidding. I'm not a part of that culture at all. But I would have loved to have done that, it would have been great.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Love. Love you. Okay, so this is a it's a more serious question. Absolutely. Are they gonna phrase it? Sorry. Okay.
How People Describe Her
SPEAKER_03Okay. So I want you to choose three words of how you think that other people would describe you. Oh gosh. And then three that you would like hope to be described as.
SPEAKER_00Oh. Nice.
SPEAKER_03Okay, this is gonna be so hard. Good one. Good, good.
SPEAKER_00Just like single words.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, or like you can do more than that. That was just the thought behind it. However you interpret it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. How I think people think of me. This is more than one word, but like someone who's always there. I think a lot of times people are like, oh, did you see that? Or oh did you like I'm always there, right? So it's like that like kind of stability thing, maybe stable. I don't know, like as a friend, friend-wise. Um people would say about me. Uh maybe independent, caring, I would hope. Maybe I will say that. And then what I'd hope people would say with me, say about me it's hard. It's hard to know how you like come across. And sometimes I think I come off like a bit passive aggressive when I'm trying to be sarcastic. Or like everything I say sounds sarcastic, and then people are like, what? Like, no, genuinely, I do care what you're saying. It's sounding wrong though. So I would like, I would like if people thought that I was like kind or whatever. If people thought that I was more selfless, maybe that would be nice. Or just like, you know, making sacrifices for things. Yes. What would be one more? But they think I'm funny. I think I am a little.
SPEAKER_02So and I think all of those things. Yeah. Oh, thank you. Yes. You're the funniest bulger.
SPEAKER_03By far. Gray's face. This is why Gray doesn't get a mic. She is correct. Now, I think there's all accurately described. Grey, you don't want to mic, trust me. Especially, I feel like I don't like the reliability, but also just like, I feel like, I don't know. Or honey roasting. She's like, Oh, Honey Roasting. Yes, she is all those things. And more. And more. She's beauty. She's grace. That might be great. That probably is. She's Miss Congeniality. USA! I am Sandra Bullock at heart.
SPEAKER_06Good movie.
SPEAKER_03Two of the words Sandra and Bullock. Sandra and Bullock.
SPEAKER_04That's me. What is like your go-to like TV show, like binge?
Comfort Shows And Gilmore Girls Debate
SPEAKER_04Or of like a comfort show you're putting on, doing homework, or like background. Comfort show.
SPEAKER_00Definitely, I love Gilmore Girls. It's one of my favorite. Who do you choose for Rory? Jess, Dean, or I do have to go, Jess. I will say I was kind of a Logan fan for a while. Never liked Dean. Thought he was a horrible boyfriend. Things he did, no. Somebody. Horrible husband. Horrible husband. I can't even get into it. He was also just a horrible boyfriend. Yes, please, please. She was the victim. But I don't know. Logan was kind of a charmer at some parts, and I don't think he was the best for maybe. I think Rory's kind of the problem. But anyway. She is. She is. Let's talk about it. Re-watching it, Kilmore's kind of annoying. Not even kind of. She is annoying. But sometimes I think Jess also wasn't the best thing for her, even though I like him. They were just going down not great paths, but same with Logan. So it's just kind of like whatever.
SPEAKER_03I wish that like when Jess was like got his head on straight that they would have to do. Why did you drop out? So good. Simply put, I fully agree. I think that is the best take, is that it's like for Rory Logan, for me Jess. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? And I, and because like, yeah. When she said no to his proposal, I was just kind of like, girl, like what? Like, I just thought that was stupid. I thought the writers with that was stupid. Like, yeah. Why would they not get married? So to me, it's kind of like Jess and Logan are tied. Dean, you can't even see him. He's all the way out the floor.
SPEAKER_05Whose baby is at the end? It's Logan's. You think Logan's? I think.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think Logan. I kind of, yeah. I maybe home? I don't know. I didn't really like that. I didn't really like that. I hate I get it. You're trying to be like that extra part. But like it was just stupid. Just let us know who's. I I don't really think about that. Anyway. But also friends. Anytime I'd be doing school, I'll just put friends on because it's just like background noise and I just like it a lot. Who's your favorite character?
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_00Chen Le Bing, of course. My man, my man. I'm smoker. Early season? No. Monica is my character. So I love her. So then I get jammer.
SPEAKER_03What are some characters that you relate to in media? I think definitely in media.
SPEAKER_00I can't take it back.
unknownIt's okay.
SPEAKER_00Definitely again, not to bring it up again, but Lucy Moneratz from While You're Sleeping. I love her. I feel like I relate to her like if I played a character in a movie. Like I just be myself in that.
SPEAKER_03I feel like you're Monica Coded too.
SPEAKER_00And yes, I was about to say, Monica. I like to think that I'm not as crazy, but I definitely was like kind of clean, freak, controlling, like, but also just sweet and like whatever. Kind of. So that's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Hey. So yeah. I don't know. Okay. It's fine. I didn't hear you piping up at all. Yeah, you know what David. Yeah, let's edify Kennedy.
SPEAKER_00Sure. Yeah. If I could choose who I wanted to be, I'd be like Lorelai Gilmore because she's just so funny and I love her.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But yeah. I don't know who else I relate to.
SPEAKER_03I do have a follow-up question, Gilmore Girl related. Yes. Are you, and I mean, this is controversial, I feel like. But are you a like if you were a better person, are you Chris or you know?
SPEAKER_00I mean, okay. I have to go Luke. Just because of the like always being there, stable, how he'd help out.
SPEAKER_05If Christopher was an option, hey, Christopher is always in and out.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03I can't even like fat let him be like. I said if you were like a better person.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but let me say, like, no.
SPEAKER_00Re-watching it sometimes, like Luke would annoy me with how negative he is. Like, it's just like, brother, like get the stick out of your butt and just like move on with life. Like, it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_03He had his moments too where he'd want to marry Orlando. What I was saying is, I don't sorry. I the one thing I will never forgive Luke for, and I love him, ride or die, for the whole series. Is I'm like, why would you not tell her about April? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Bro, okay.
SPEAKER_03That just take out season seven because I hate it. That is not in his character. We are going on a rant.
SPEAKER_00I'm hate it. No, I'm fine with this. I'm fine with this. I hate it. I don't like that character development at all. It doesn't work with who he is. It doesn't work for his whole entire story.
SPEAKER_03And she doesn't even like she's not even like a nice daughter that I even care about. We don't even have a good dynamic with the world.
SPEAKER_00That whole season is just stupid. Especially. Lane not married.
SPEAKER_01He read the whole Bible for her. I can't.
SPEAKER_05Terry cobbled. They're just not nice.
SPEAKER_03They put Seth Cohen into Gilmore Girls and they said, let's make it even better than Leo C. Let's make them. Oh my gosh. Yes, okay. They were smoking crack when they just like gave out.
SPEAKER_00What? What was the even guy's name that she married? I don't even remember. Stupid. He's blonde. Blonde. Blonde. Drug for it.
SPEAKER_01Zach. Zach, Zach, Zach. Zach. He was just blonde and can't provide.
SPEAKER_06Oh, thank you. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Anyway.
SPEAKER_00Yes. We can't we can't go coffee about it.
SPEAKER_06David gets the pass.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
This Or That And Crush Confessions
SPEAKER_02I do have a list of this or that questions from Chat GPT. Since you were our this or that person, I was like, I have to do this for her. I appreciate it. Okay, so ready. Are you ready? Yeah. Okay. Coffee or tea? Coffee. Beach vacation or mountain getaway. Mountain getaway. Movies or TV shows? Movies. Cats or dogs? Cats. Early bird or night owl. Night owl.
SPEAKER_03Unfortunately, you could never be. Cannot hesitate on that.
SPEAKER_00Texting or calling? Probably calling, but I do agree with Gracie with like the audio message for some people. I love that.
SPEAKER_02Adventure date or cozy date? Ooh. Probably cozy. Okay. This says, I think this is in reference to if you had a superpower. So invisibility or flying. It has to be. It has to be. No, it's not.
SPEAKER_01That's not what that means. Not related. That's not what that means.
SPEAKER_00I would probably say invisible. Invisible.
SPEAKER_02Invisibility as your superpower. Save money or spend on experiences.
SPEAKER_00Good question. Hard. I've always been a saver at heart, but I'm trying to kind of break that and be more of a specter.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Oh, yeah. Opposite.
SPEAKER_00I literally pause for a second. Had an issue with spending money at all, especially on myself. So I have to like break that habit and actually do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so good.
SPEAKER_02Treat yourself. Treat yourself. Okay, last one. Know the future or change the past.
SPEAKER_00Know the future.
SPEAKER_02It bothers me so much.
SPEAKER_00I just need to know.
SPEAKER_02Just tell me, tell me. Tell me. Use your words. Use your words. Tell me. Good. Okay. I know they switched it up. I did switch it up. I did.
SPEAKER_06Real celebrity crushes and then fictional character crushes.
SPEAKER_08David Fictional characters.
SPEAKER_06Oh, she said Chandler Bing already. And then also like three guys from whatever show. Girl or girls.
SPEAKER_03Look, you just had one. You just do that to understand.
SPEAKER_06I have yet to watch that show.
SPEAKER_03It's a comfort show. That should be your next watch. Yeah. You'd love it. For a series. One of the guys who plays Superman.
SPEAKER_06What?
SPEAKER_03You just watch it.
SPEAKER_06Did one of the guys play Superman?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_06If Morgan is agree is confused by it, I know that's gotta be wrong. I think she's lying to you. I think she's trying to gaslight me into watching it.
SPEAKER_00That's what she does when she's like, oh, you should listen to our podcast. Like, I don't really want to. She's like, we mention you, and then like, oh, okay, I'll check it out. Oh, that's so smart.
SPEAKER_03You'd enjoy it. Yes. Sorry, continue, can't I?
SPEAKER_00No, that's okay. I've never been into like a it's more characters, not as much a celebrity. My family would joke me so much that I had the biggest like crush on Tom Holland. I did not. Oh yeah. But them saying it so much kind of made me. And I would look up like YouTube Shorts on him, and I just thought he was very funny and sweet.
SPEAKER_07Yo!
SPEAKER_00What? That umbrella.
SPEAKER_01I didn't have no.
SPEAKER_04I don't like that. Nah, that's a daddy thing.
SPEAKER_00No. But like actual characters, like I love Leonardo DiCabrio's characters. Not him as a person. Rose. But him in the 90s, his characters I love. Like Catch Me While You Can. Oh, great movie. That's a good movie. Oh gosh. More people. I always any really 90s men. Like I love Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, like anyone in those shows that would play, like maybe like a lawyer guy.
SPEAKER_07A lawyer in the suit. It was so good in the suit.
SPEAKER_00Josh Christian movies, if they're in that, like, yes. So yeah, that would probably be my answer. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06So Tom Hahn is the only celebrity crush. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Did you ever have a bad haircut?
SPEAKER_00Actually, thank the Lord. I don't think so. Go ahead. I never had bangs. Not that that's bad for anyone, but like the curtain, not the curtain bangs. What do you call it? Straight across. Straight across bangs. Not a friend of diet. My parents never did it to me. I'd cut my hair pretty short and then grow it and then cut it short as a little kid. I think my worst hair stage was just like when I was like from when I was born to two years old, like my hair's just a mess. Like I had a lot of hair when I was born, but it was like some was long and some was short, and it's just like scraggly and a mess all the time. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02What did you think when you were a kid?
Coolness, Mispronunciations, Canada Myths
SPEAKER_02I don't know how they worded it, but it was like basically like what did you think you had to do to be cool, or what did you think was cool as a kid? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I never I never like I don't know, wanted to be cool, kind of. Like I enjoy that people clock that I'm homeschooled a little bit.
SPEAKER_06I enjoy that they clocked that I'm I enjoy those values.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, so I don't know if there was like, oh, like I just want to be cool in this way. Like I already felt like I don't know. I didn't need to be cool. Jesus is cool, right, guys? Like kind of like I was like secure in that. I was just like, I don't know. Uh like if there was a specific thing that I was like, oh, if I could have that, you know, clothing. I just thought clothing trends were stupid. Even as a kid, I was like, why are we like buying all this stuff for like, oh, it's now this trend to have these shoes or these pants, and then it always changes. I was just like steady with what I always wore, it was the same thing.
SPEAKER_02If you thought someone was really cool, what did you think was cool about them? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's a hard one. I just think maybe okay, maybe I'm thinking about this wrong. It's not like the looks or like the style, but like the person. Like anytime there's like just like an independent, like girl who just like a sweet Christian girl that I'd want to be, you know what I'm saying? That like has her little family and her nice husband, and you're just like, oh my gosh, like you are just living my dream, and you're so cool for that. Yeah. And I thought, like, my aunts, all my aunts growing up were really great, and my uncles, so like that's probably them. The role model type.
SPEAKER_03Gray, did you think that Kennedy was cool when you were growing up?
SPEAKER_06Wait, I didn't think she was like uncool. But she was like like that, cool.
SPEAKER_00Gray would Gray would usually take on the opinion of Brooks, and Brooks always thought I was very uncool. But Gray used to think I was very cool when he was little. Anyway, it's bad.
SPEAKER_03You just don't remember it. You just don't remember.
SPEAKER_02You don't know.
SPEAKER_00Have you always said Chipotle like that? No. I say words wrong all the time. I'm similar to David with like, I'll misspeak, and it's horrible. And it's like, what were you trying to say?
SPEAKER_06It's funny, because I do not the worst here. Like, I do it the worst here easily. Like it because when I mess up here, it's catastrophic.
SPEAKER_01It's like I just say the wrong out.
SPEAKER_00Even if on the podcast, like I'll say just like the completely wrong word, or like like that's sounds like I have horrible grammar and I'm not educated. It's not true, but it kind of sounds like that.
SPEAKER_06And I can't pronounce it on the card. You can also get away with it more so than I can.
SPEAKER_03You could just put it off on Canada.
SPEAKER_00It's how I say it in Canada. Well, it kind of complicates out.
SPEAKER_06That's a Canadian saying.
SPEAKER_00Any Canadian listening, my mom pronounces words wrong all the time. She used to read that book. She would say, Is your is your mama a llama? And my dad's like, it's supposed to rhyme. Like, is your mama a llama? Like, that's how you always. She's like, yeah. She's like, no, Brian. Like, it rhymes with drama. He's like, drama, it's drama. Like, biggest fight in the game. Yeah, you're saying grandma. What is this?
SPEAKER_01Drama.
SPEAKER_03Drama. Oh.
SPEAKER_00So I blame it on that. So but also I'm. So she would say, like, no drama lamo. Yes. Yes. Psychotic. And some. I can't blame this on all of Canada because most of our civilians are like, no drama lama. You're crazy. It's not Ryan Ronald's fault. It's Canadian. This book's first. Some Canadians don't talk like that. Some definitely do. And they have like their Canadian accent is more than that, unfortunately. But also I'm just bad at talking. Like I, for the life of me, could never say museum. I would always say museum. And I could not physically make my mouth say museum. It was so hard. Till I was like 12. It was bad.
SPEAKER_06One question about Canadians. Do they all look like the Canadian version of characters from South Park? Are they all just bro?
SPEAKER_00What if that question? Come on. No. Dang it. Dang it. No. They're really hoping for that one. Canada's actually very diverse because they have like they're looser on like their immigrant policies. So they have everybody.
SPEAKER_06I feel like this has just been a really big learning. This has been a lot of just learning this one.
SPEAKER_00This has been a lot of learning.
SPEAKER_03Glad to educate. Yeah.
Faith, Family, Goals, Big Future Plans
SPEAKER_03A lot of education. What is one thing that younger you would be proud of in you today?
SPEAKER_00Probably that I'm pursuing being a teacher. It wasn't something that I like always planned like growing up. But now looking back, I'm like, oh girl, you always wanted to do that. Because like with the kids that my mom would have at her little at-home daycare, and then my own younger siblings, like I was always doing stuff like that. We would do like a little devotion in the morning with my little devotional that I had. Mind you I'm like eight, probably. And then like do like a little lesson time. Like they're all different ages, so it'd be like, you work on tracing your letters, and you work on this, and like just like playing games like that. So I think if I told that little girl that that's what I'm doing now, she'd be like, oh besides that, I don't really know.
SPEAKER_02No, it's a good one. Very good. What is most important to you right now?
SPEAKER_00Definitely my faith. Number one. They are it's very, very important to me. Number two is my family. I love them. Like, I just like our family dynamic and how close we all are. And my little sister, like, she's like my daughter. Like, I just love her. And every day I get home from work, and she's like, You never see me, you never hang out with me. Do you want to go to Starbucks? And then we just like go. So yeah. And then everything's better. Um, yeah, I enjoy my family a lot. And then my friends. So I'll tell you those are the main three things that have always been important to me. Yes. But number one, the Lord. Because He's done the most.
SPEAKER_03My faith, my freedom, and my freedom. And our service. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The Lord gained that. The Lord gained it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Good, good. That's good. What's a goal that you have set for like this year or like in the near future? What do you see yourself in five years?
SPEAKER_00My five-year point. Well, finishing out this year, I'm transferring to ODU South. I'm not good with change, so that always like stresses me out. So that's like a big thing, even though it's like.
SPEAKER_03Are you going on campus? No, I'm just doing online.
SPEAKER_00Yep, it's the same. Just a different platform. I don't know. It's just a different platform, literally. But yeah. I don't know if I have any new goals for this year. Five-year plan. That's a big question. My ideal. A new guy comes into church.
SPEAKER_01We meet each other. Five-year plan? Yes. And I'm like, oh my gosh. It's next Sunday. It's next Sunday that this will happen.
SPEAKER_00And we introduce you, and it's like, we just immediately hit it off. Because we're gonna come back to Bible study, and then we get to know each other, and then because we're getting married by the end of this year. Right. That was the goal we had. Right. That was the goal. It was to get engaged, just to get engaged. By the end of this year, anyway. Those albums and all this podcast. We've gotta hurry. We've got to hurry it up. I said that. For what?
SPEAKER_06She's speedrunning.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I'm just trying to like get the five-year plan going. And so then, yeah, uh, the rest is history. Yeah. I get the life that I've always wanted.
SPEAKER_06My five-year plan of the next six months. Next, next week.
SPEAKER_00Well, okay, then fast forward, it's five years, and then I have my husband and I have my kids, and I have all kids. What's it five years? Bro, what do you think? How long do you think it takes? How many kids though? Like how many because you said kids. I would actually love a big family. Not like huge, huge. Right away. How many kids do you want? As a kid, if you had told me I would have said 11, I would have copy and natural color.
SPEAKER_05I mean, there's adoption, y'all. Like you're like, hey, let me have three. My mom's got a big thing.
SPEAKER_00Give me ten of them.
SPEAKER_03You daddy.
SPEAKER_00You daddy. My mom is the oldest of eleven. So that's where it comes from. Oldest of eleven. All natural.
SPEAKER_03He said the trash. No. What?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03And no twins either. So can we send flowers to your grandmother? Can we? Yes.
SPEAKER_00She's populated in half of Canada. Love you, Grandma.
SPEAKER_06All of Canada, actually.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes, all of Canada. No, she was in a magazine for that. Or like a newspaper celebration.
SPEAKER_06She's the Douglas of Canada. She is the mother.
SPEAKER_00I loved that family dynamic so much. I was like, I like I want that now. Like, okay, legitimately real mature answer. I would pray about it each time because I think there's so much value in that. And like, I don't know. Like, maybe two kids overwhelms me. It's like I can't have any more. Maybe like the Lord is calling me to have more kids. We'll just see. Minimum, though, I feel like three. Like, I don't like only children. They're bratty. Two, two of them, it just they don't ever like have good relationships with each other. I don't know what it is, but like they're always like fighting. You need the third one to like balance it out. No. So it'd be three or maybe more.
SPEAKER_03Three, somebody always gets left out.
SPEAKER_00That is true. Yeah, kind of. It's true. It's everyone.
SPEAKER_03Well, I guess the mighty.
SPEAKER_00So then four, and then probably five. So and then eleven.
SPEAKER_05And then eleven.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. Sorry. That was a lot of words for an answer.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome. No, that's that's a good natural progression. Natural progression. Five, eleven, and eleven. Five eleven. For context for our listeners, we all just did the sixth videos. Five eleven.
SPEAKER_06Not all of us.
SPEAKER_03Good. I love that. I love that.
SPEAKER_00David's too sure he would never six seven. That's a plane flying by.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay. Nobody panics. The world ends. Nobody panic.
