Tyree In The Hot Seat
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Tyree sits in the hot seat and we waste absolutely no time getting personal. What starts as a simple friend group podcast interview quickly turns into a fast, funny, surprisingly honest look at who Tyree is when she’s put on the spot. We kick things off with our latest Spotify listens, then jump straight into the kind of questions that expose the truth: what people assume about her, her most random trait, what makes her irrationally angry, and the comfort-movie picks she’d take to a desert island.
Then Tyree’s career journey takes over in the best way. She walks us through a resume, from Claire’s to summer camp to restaurants to insurance to orthodontics to banking. Tyree also shares what she does now in public schools, including enrollment support connected to foster care kids and foreign exchange students, plus helping with disciplinary hearing processes.
The chaos peaks when a cockroach literally falls into the recording and we all lose it, but the heart of the conversation lands right after. Tyree talks about faith, what she would tell her high school self, how she’s trying to build discipline, get off her phone, read more, and be more present. And right at the end, she drops the most unexpected fun fact: she’s into birdwatching, has a bird app, and has strong opinions on favorite birds.
If you laughed, cringed, or related a little too hard, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review. Then come talk to us on Instagram and tell us your most embarrassing moment.
Welcome And The Hot Seat Setup
SPEAKER_06Hey guys, welcome back to Just Us Talking. This week we have somebody in the hot seat, and the person in the hot seat is Tyree.
SPEAKER_03It's just Tyree talking.
SPEAKER_06It's just Tyree talking, yes. Guys, so we are going to be just interviewing her, asking her questions, and she has to answer them truthfully or she will um get shocked.
SPEAKER_02I'm nervous. Shocked as an electric shock?
SPEAKER_06Uh no, that's a that's a lie.
SPEAKER_12Get my clock.
SPEAKER_05Alright, that was quick. I don't own a gun. How quickly did we uh talk about guns? That was like under 30 seconds. That's pretty quick.
SPEAKER_12Monetized? It's monetized? We might have to bleed that out. That's my bad.
SPEAKER_06Unregistered firearm. Sure, sure. My name is David, and the last song that I listened to on Spotify was You Owe Me by Malcolm Todd, and the one right before that was uh Teeny Turner.
SPEAKER_00So, yeah, a little bit of you know, it just tells you about who I am spiritually as a person.
SPEAKER_12Lord of mercy. Um well, hi, I'm Morgan. The last song I listened to was Pictures of You by the Cure. Good. Um, and then the last one right before then was There is a Light That Never Goes Out by the Smiths.
SPEAKER_02You are uh what kind of day did you have today?
SPEAKER_12I had an alternative 80s day. That's what I had.
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_09Turn up. Well, I'm Gracie, and the last song that I listened to is Reason to Stay, Olivia Dean. And the one before that was All Hail King Jesus.
SPEAKER_02My name is Tyree. The last song I listened to was Owe Praise for Every Mountain by Lizzie Morgan. The song before that was Starving by Hailey Stein.
SPEAKER_06I will never forgive her for what she did at the Riff Off. We're not about that.
SPEAKER_07My name is Kennedy. The last song I listened to was The Great Divide by Noah Khan. And the one before that was Home by Good Neighbors. Good, good, good, good.
SPEAKER_10I'm Mary Grace. And the last song I listened to was Gyra. The song before that, it doesn't even say a song, it just says an artist, unfortunately, which is Shabuzi. It was Let It Burn.
SPEAKER_07It was Let It Burn by Shabuzi.
SPEAKER_10I think it's worse if it just says an artist and not a song. That's true.
SPEAKER_05And this is just Tyree Talking.
Everyone Shares Their Latest Songs
SPEAKER_02No, I'm not nervous. I don't have anything to hide.
SPEAKER_06Phase one.
SPEAKER_12Phase one. The Avengers face a massive threat.
SPEAKER_01This is an Avengers level thread.
SPEAKER_02Tyree will return in Avengers Doom Day.
SPEAKER_12Michael Jackson. Sorry, that's like phase three. We're not there yet.
SPEAKER_00You're skipping ahead too far.
SPEAKER_07Okay, okay.
Wrong Assumptions And Random Traits
SPEAKER_07No, let's jump right in. What's something people assume about you that is wrong? Ooh. We're just gonna, we're not even gonna like, you know, soft launch it. We're just gonna go right for it. We're just gonna go right in.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. That I know what's going on because I'm gonna be so girl, I don't like to say 70% of the time, I'm lost. I don't I don't know what's going on. I'm just having a great time though.
SPEAKER_10I also have an answer if you were fine with me.
SPEAKER_02Please have the answer for you. Please, no, Mary Grace would know me better. She is your healthy.
SPEAKER_00This isn't fair.
SPEAKER_10I think that people assume, like, you know how we did the looks like a cinnamon roll is a cinnamon roll. I think people assume you are looks like a cinnamon roll would kill you when you're actually looks like they kill you, but is a cinnamon roll. Yeah, I've gotten both. That's a good one. I've gotten both.
SPEAKER_02I think that you I think depending on the day, it could go either way.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Yeah. It might switch back and forth, but yeah. What is your most random trait?
SPEAKER_02Most random trait? Ooh, I don't know. I guess I don't have the ability at all to control my face. I don't know. Yeah. I think my emotions read on my face. I hate it though. Because everybody always knows what I'm thinking.
SPEAKER_06Alright, what is something small that makes you irrationally angry?
SPEAKER_02Hmm. Something small that makes me angry. I would say when people like interrupt, like if I'm if I'm I know David feels the oldness, but like I have a bad habit of interrupting too. But I feel like if I'm if like I ask you a question and you're answering it, and then somebody like out of left field just comes over, like, oh, do you know what time the movie starts tomorrow? Whatever. I'm like, we're literally having a whole conversation. Don't interrupt.
SPEAKER_12Right. Okay, I have a question.
Desert Island Movies And Pet Peeves
SPEAKER_12This is this is a very serious question, Tyree. What are your three desert island movies?
SPEAKER_02Oh, good. I would say that I'm a person that chooses, I found, based off of like sentimental purposes. And so growing up, my favorite movies were The Wedding Planner, Matthew McConaughey, J Lo. The Wizard of Oz, solely because that's the only VH test my VHS tape my Grammy owed when owned when we would go stay at her her house over summer. So Wedding Planner, Wizard of Oz. And then I would say the third one. Good. Just gotta have it. That's 10 out of 10. Gotta have it. Classic.
Tyree’s Wild Job Timeline
SPEAKER_02How many jobs have you had? Ooh, good question. And what were they? First job, Claire's.
SPEAKER_09Did you pierce ears?
SPEAKER_02I did.
SPEAKER_09No ears. Do they get like a license or anything?
SPEAKER_02You have to get like certified and like also like medical, like CPR, like first aid certified. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Are you still certified?
SPEAKER_02I'm not, but that hasn't stopped me.
SPEAKER_03Wait, don't worry about that. Side tangent.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, I worked at Claire's, and then after that, I worked at Atlantic Shores Summer Camp. I probably didn't do that.
SPEAKER_05Is that where you did it?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_12The C hero was at Claire.
SPEAKER_02The C hero was at Claire. I'm trying to think. After that, I think I worked at oh yeah, a country club, Green Barrow Country Club. I worked there for a long time. And then I worked at the former church that I used to go to. And then I worked at I feel like I've had a lot of jobs. Then I worked at a restaurant. I was a server. And then I changed into I started being a bartender. And then I worked in insurance. And then I was an Orthodonis assistant. And then that was any of these. I was like about check. And then I was a banker. And then the job that I have now.
SPEAKER_05What are you now?
SPEAKER_02What do you do now? I work for the public school. So I do a lot of different things, but I work with like enrollment for foster care children. I work with enrollment for foreign exchange students, and I also help process like disciplinary hearing trials.
SPEAKER_06Dude, she reminds me of that one girl from Austin Alley that had like a different job.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that had a different job. Every Kyrie Futricia, but so many jobs.
SPEAKER_05Jeez, like I thought I had a pretty unique crap sheet, but no.
SPEAKER_07Okay, wait. Can I ask you which one was your least favorite? Least favorite? Like you would never go back. You're like, I just hated that.
SPEAKER_02So two answers. My I hated working at the summer camp because I had K5 and they were just trifling kids. And also the summer camp that I worked at was not like organized whatsoever. So it was just like chaos. And one of the people asked me, they were like, Oh, like, can we see you back next year? And I was like, No. I know you cannot. I'm afraid not. And then I also despised working in insurance. It was awful. It was just so boring, you know. And I have to have some flavor in my life. Um, I will say, third like least favorite job was the orthodontist assistant. I like what I did. I did not like being like up close to personal in people's grills. Because also, like, a lot of kids were there, and these kids don't brush their teeth at all. And I remember I was like changing out the wires and stuff like that. And one, like I it was so gross, but like some plaque flew up and hit me in my eye. I was like, they're like, you have to go flush your eye out right now. And I was like, this might just be my last day. I'm not gonna lie to you.
SPEAKER_12Hey, and while my face is over this eye wash count, and I'm at turn to my two weeks. They're like, hey, I'm gonna know. I'm actually just gonna flee.
SPEAKER_11Blinking the water through your life, so I'm actually gonna be moving out. I'm actually, I can't, hold on.
SPEAKER_02Actually, it wasn't my last day. It was so gross. I like that job, but it was very like because I had a friend that worked there, Alicia worked there, she still works there. I'm glad that I had a friend that worked there. My favorite job has been at the bank and the job I have now. I loved working at the bank. I loved counting money because it was like that was cool.
SPEAKER_10Except when you had weird customers.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Were you ever scared to work at the bank? No, nothing weird ever happened. I didn't like the whole, and this is kind of like along the same line as like the insurance piece. I didn't like the whole talking about loans and like mortgage rates and it was like, please just I would rather pass away than continue talking about that. It was so boring. And like, not that I didn't understand it, but I was like, Yeah, this isn't for me. Like, you mean to tell me that I'm gonna be talking to you about homeowners insurance?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02Are you saying that I have to put a lien on his house right now? Me, me, and my this child of God has to put a lean on full of whimsy and joy. You're telling me to do that. No, there's this one guy at the bank, or yeah, he tried to ask me how, like, while I was actively like dealing with his bank profile, and he had like negative dollars in his account.
SPEAKER_00Hey, shoot a shoot. Honestly. Did he get you with the chime card?
SPEAKER_10He's like, hey, I know I only got two dollars in my account. Would you go out with me?
SPEAKER_02I was like, um, his last dollar's on you.
SPEAKER_12Because my chime card might have five.
SPEAKER_09It was like, bro. Wait, what's the most amount of money you've seen in a bank account? In a bank account?
SPEAKER_00Can we talk about that?
SPEAKER_12Million! Yeah, it's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Oh, never mind. I guess we can't talk about that.
SPEAKER_12Did that one ask for your number two, or just the? Unfortunately, I think no.
SPEAKER_00Would you have taken it?
SPEAKER_02Heck yeah. Probably old.
SPEAKER_12It was not old people. I would have looked back at the screen the second time, but I would I would have said no.
SPEAKER_10Should have been like, wait, hold on a second. Check the computer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, wait, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_12Can I get your number real quick?
SPEAKER_05Tyree said.
SPEAKER_02Not that I'm all sorry. Not that like I'm all about money. And also, I'm not like ballin either. Like, I'm not rich, but like like it was negatives. It would be different if it was like at least three bucks. But you don't have any, you have less than anything in here. You were actually giving you.
SPEAKER_12You can't even pull one over on you. I have your your banking account open on a screen in front of my eyes.
SPEAKER_07And he was like, girl, I'll give you the world. She's seen the worst.
SPEAKER_00You can't the world is taking back right now.
SPEAKER_12You can give me a check that's gonna bounce.
SPEAKER_02It was like conversations like that, and then like when people would come in the bank like pissed, like it was like, why did they take money out of my account? Like, wanting to know like what the charges were up there. And it's like sure, like you just you'd have to like read their thing and you'd have to confirm it. And it'd be like, so uh it says here like Friday, September 7th, you made a payment to footbeatpicks.com. Is that accurate?
SPEAKER_03Shut up. It's like, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's a recurring payment, actually. It's just subscription. Shut up. It's a subscription. And like the type of payment it was, it's like you could tell like if they manually put their card number in. So it's like, you need to tell me that this is not yours. You can dress it down, it'll be shut up. And I've already heard these stories before, too.
SPEAKER_00This is good. I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_02People do that all the time, and it's like, oh, it says here, like yesterday you spent money on KFC 40 bucks. It's like, yeah, that was me. It was like so embarrassing that I have to like read off their embarrassing for them, funny for me.
SPEAKER_07Funny for me. Oh, that's so funny. That's so funny. What on the subject of jobs?
Worst Jobs And Bank Counter Stories
SPEAKER_07What was like your dream job as a kid?
SPEAKER_02My dream job as a kid, I was never okay. I never really had one. It would always change. Okay, but if I am so for real, I wanted to be a pop star. I just wanted to be famous. I just wanted to be famous. But like as I grew up and got older, it was like everybody was like, Oh, I want to be a veterinarian, I want to be a doctor. I'm like, you're like, I gotta I don't want to work. I don't want to work. I don't want I don't want any of this. But I never I don't know, I never had a definitive like answer to any of those questions. I feel like I would say something because I knew that people would want me to like provide an answer. So I don't know. Hey, not wanting to work is valid. I like that answer. I just like to go with the flow, sort of vibe. Yeah, I feel like I can take something away from every job that I've had. It's cool.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I don't know if this is still within this category, but if you had an alter ego, what do you think it would be?
SPEAKER_02Oh an alter ego? Let me ask you guys. What hey, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_10What I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I guess it's hard to imagine me sending another one not being me. I will say, by the grace of God, were it not for him, I probably would be a very trifling human being. Trifling? I'm not gonna lie. My college years? Yep, yep. Mary Grace knows she would have damn you. She used to want to ask.
SPEAKER_10And we know this. We know.
SPEAKER_02We know I understand. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_12Like you're Hannah Montana.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if I had an alternate, like I guess I would want to be able to play more instruments.
SPEAKER_10Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02I do have the ability to learn now, currently, but if I you could be thick, I could make it happen, but I guess I wish that I would have like pursued like music when I was much younger to where it would be much easier. Yeah, that's a good answer. That's a good answer.
SPEAKER_07Good answer. And a pop star. Yeah. Yeah. One thing leads to another. Yeah. You really would be Hannah Montana. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah. Ballad.
SPEAKER_10So Hannah Montana.
SPEAKER_12Yeah. So were you were you team? Sorry, I didn't must give you David, but were you team Brittany or Christina?
SPEAKER_02Brittany all the way. Okay.
SPEAKER_07All the way? All the way.
SPEAKER_06I was just gonna try to keep it on the kit like her as a kid.
Pop Star Dreams And Alter Ego Talk
SPEAKER_06Uh what was a core memory that shaped you as a child? Let's Or shaped you now from like a memory from when you were a child that shaped you. I think I said that word too.
SPEAKER_07You said it right the first time. What was the process of shaping this?
SPEAKER_12How have you been shaped? On the pottery wheel of your life. Um I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I feel like a weird time. I feel like the favorite part of my childhoods were like me and my cousin, we would like again, wrong timing. We would always put on like these performances at Christmas Eve. Like, let's dance to Toxic by Brittany Spears and perform at Christmas Eve service. Like in front of Christmas. Christmas Eve service. Before all my family and friends, like, that's a perfect song. On the hard, shiny black shoes with a white frilly paw. Yeah, flat dress, dancing to toxic, velvet dress, yeah, yeah. I think those are core memories. They were always so fun, but it was always like looking back now, I'm like, ooh. But my kids need to do that. It's being an event. It's required. It's required. Core required. Yeah. Right, right. I'd say another memory too. This just hit me. When I was younger, I stole my neighbor's dirt bike.
SPEAKER_12And so you gate kept being a thief or something.
SPEAKER_00And you can put it and we've been putting it all on Mary Grace.
SPEAKER_12I got called a felon for a for a traffic accident. And then that was a hit and run. Yeah, I ran. There's a difference. Whoa.
SPEAKER_00You got you ran away from a payoff. We're leaving that in.
SPEAKER_02No, like it's not like he said that I couldn't. He said that, like, yeah, like I could ride it whenever I wanted. Looking back, the implication of like parental supervision was definitely there. But I just was like, hey, like I got out of school early. I know where the dirt bike is. I can take it. And so I like took the dirt bike and I rode it around my neighborhood and I ended up crashing it. Um I ran over like it was like a pothole in the road and like some rocks or whatever. So I like flipped it multiple times. If I the dirt bike was totaled, and also how were you? I was also totaled. Like a huge gash like all over like in my forehead, and like blood was running down my face. And it was the most embarrassing thing. I had to walk home looking like that and passing like my neighbors and stuff like that. And yeah, I had to go to the hospital and I had to get some stitches.
SPEAKER_12No, that's crazy. So quite literally shaped you. Quite literally. Quite quite shaped.
SPEAKER_02Literally shaped me. Shaped my forehead. Yeah, that's why I have a lot of space up here.
SPEAKER_10Oh my goodness. Okay. So sorry, I don't know. Do you want to keep going? Well, I just thought this question was kind of with that. What were you like as a kid?
SPEAKER_02I was very quiet, actually. It was very opposite of who I am now. I was very quiet, very shy. I think I like to be by myself a lot. Like I had some friends, but I like to wander around the neighborhood and like just play by myself. I had this tree that I like to climb. And then I would go up there with like my book bag, with like my diary, and like my books, and like just write about my hard life, I guess. And I would like play in the dirt. We had like this river by our house, and I would play there. I had like some friends, but I I think I like to be by myself. I was a very awkward kid, very awkward and quiet child, so it was a days. Like we keep him on easy going.
SPEAKER_10Did you feel like you started becoming who you are now?
Middle School Pantsing Turns The Tide
SPEAKER_02What's they about middle school when I experienced public humiliation? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I like this boy in sixth grade. He's always a boy. Sixth grade boys are actually like, if there's if there's any way that the world will end, it'll be by sixth grade boys. They are actually crazy. But I like this boy. And he ended up dancing me as listening.
SPEAKER_03We got a clip. We got an Instagram clip. He was into you.
SPEAKER_08No, stop. No, because that is not how we're gonna raise our people manage to meet you and like you. No, no.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm not sure. No, not how we're raising. I mean, it kind of does mean that he was into you, but also Wait, but what?
SPEAKER_02There's a little like trend. Where? A trend? Yeah, like people with pants each other. At school? Yeah. It was public schooled.
SPEAKER_00So if that happened to my kid, I'm walking in a car. I would be so mad if that happened to my child.
SPEAKER_07Was it like in like where like in the classroom or like in the cafeteria? It was in the gym.
SPEAKER_02It was a school assembly.
SPEAKER_08School assembly. School assembly. Oh. Did your underwear come down too?
SPEAKER_00Cut that. Cut that.
SPEAKER_08No, that is so valid. Somebody's when you get pants. Your underwear comes down too. Like what? Y'all never have been pants before? Y'all have never been pants?
SPEAKER_03Never say never. Everyone in this house is getting pants tonight. No.
SPEAKER_04Whoa!
SPEAKER_03It wasn't.
SPEAKER_04Morgan!
SPEAKER_02It was different. It was during a school assembly, and the school assembly happened during my PE block. So we were all dressed out for like we had our gym uniforms on. And so it had those ratty little gym shorts. Oversized. They would have came down. I didn't do that much. Just came down naturally. Naturally, anyways. And so we were just like, I think I like took his hat or whatever, and like some of you were like, and of course.
unknownNaturally.
SPEAKER_02And they we were like running back and forth, like tagging each other, something like that. And I think everybody was like, ooh, like they like each other. I was like, all right, all right, let me let me let me chill out. Like I'm being a little too chelant right now. And then he took your shit. And then he pants me.
SPEAKER_03I'm so sorry. It's not funny.
SPEAKER_07I can No. No, don't you?
SPEAKER_12I can see it playing out so vividly. I'm just like, you know, they're into each other, they like each other, they like each other. He's like, no.
SPEAKER_03No. No.
SPEAKER_02Okay, we're gonna cut this part, but this is the end of that perfect.
SPEAKER_07Please have that.
SPEAKER_01We cannot keep it in.
SPEAKER_07You're joking.
SPEAKER_02Please. We can keep that part in, but we can delete the David! You can't cut everything you say. That was in sixth grade. I think we were like, whatever, whatever, for the rest of that year. I we dated seventh grade for like invite it's not even I don't even want to claim dating. Like he carried my books. We didn't see each other until the next day, school day.
SPEAKER_12So it's like Can I hug you tomorrow?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Shut up. And it was like I can't with that. I can't with that.
SPEAKER_02We would have like we had assigned like tables in lunch room. So we had to sit like within our homeroom classes at lunch, and he would like come up and like he'd like put some chips in my lunch tray, and I'd like walk over, like put some my snack on his lunch tray. We wouldn't talk to each other. Exchange zero words. Right.
SPEAKER_12Can I make iPods?
SPEAKER_09I love it. I love middle school.
SPEAKER_02Hey, can I paint your numbers in my face like for the funny reason? Yeah, so after middle school, I stopped feeling the feeling of embarrassment.
SPEAKER_12That'll do it.
SPEAKER_02Pretty early age.
SPEAKER_05Middle school is able to pants. Getting pants will be a good thing.
SPEAKER_02That's why I am why I am like now. I just don't care.
SPEAKER_12So going off of that, I'm so sorry, everything's in my own. It's okay. It's okay. Um what would you tell your high school self now? Guys, something insane's about to happen. And it's a moment of trauma for me. It's my favorite moment I've ever lived. You're gonna hear a lot of screaming. I wish you know I'm fine. I am okay.
The Cockroach Meltdown Moment
unknownShe's recovering.
SPEAKER_12A cockroach fell off of the ceiling and landed on my leg. And at the same time, Kennedy and Mary Grace noticed it, and they all they did was point and go, oh. And then I hit it off my leg. And I hit it towards MG and Kenneth. And it landed on its back. And then we're all screaming for a little bit. You'll hear it in the play-by-play. But I'm so sorry for what you're about to hear. Just turn your volume down. Headphone users, turn your headphones down. Eileen, I'm talking to you. I know you're on that stairmaster right now. Get that down. Going off of that, in I'm so sorry, everything's a body. It's okay. It's okay. Um what would you tell your high school self next week?
SPEAKER_08It's a big scary.
SPEAKER_03I just saw it. Like when I think it was like it was just it was just looking at you, like the one from Lolly, you know.
SPEAKER_12Cockroach sitting on my leg looking at me. I'm burning these jeans. They're done. They're done. No.
SPEAKER_03It's because you could swatter with my hand.
SPEAKER_12I was trying to hit David, and that was.
SPEAKER_07What if you had swatted it over to me, very crazy, and now it's on us? Oh god.
SPEAKER_12Well, thank you, David. I'm not gonna stop feeling like something happened.
SPEAKER_02For our listeners at home, there was a big bug on Morgan's pant leg.
SPEAKER_12Did we cut that up or do we leave it in?
SPEAKER_05I think we leave that in. I think we leave that in.
SPEAKER_12And no, I didn't see it.
SPEAKER_01For the listeners at home, what just occurred was a water bug crawled onto.
SPEAKER_12That was a cockroach. That was even a water tiny little beetle. I'm not screaming for a water bug. That was a cockroach.
SPEAKER_01A kakoroche.
SPEAKER_12Kakoroche.
SPEAKER_01A kakaroche ended up crawling on Morgan's leg. And she swatted it off, and I picked it up and went and flushed it.
SPEAKER_02La kukaracha. La kukaracha. Everyone say thank you, David. Thank you, David. We appreciate it.
SPEAKER_05I will say, I think I was.
SPEAKER_02Let me hear you say, hey, Miss Car.
SPEAKER_05I think I was the one freaking out.
SPEAKER_12Give us all.
SPEAKER_00I was definitely the one not freaking out compared to everybody in the room. That was a small one.
SPEAKER_12Small. What would you tell your high school self?
Advice To High School Tyree
SPEAKER_02What would I tell my high school self? I think I would tell my high school self to. Like when I was in high school was when I I guess got a better understanding of the gospel, but I did want once I got that driver's license, I was everywhere but church on Sunday. So I guess I would tell my high school self to don't stop going to church on Sunday just because you have your driver's license and now you have a job at Claire's.
SPEAKER_12You think you're a big deal now that you're at Claire's.
SPEAKER_02Don't stop going to church. I would tell myself that I don't need to go away for college because I moved away for college. Me and my cousin, we lived together, and again, went off the rails a little bit. So yeah, I think I would tell myself to keep striving to just be closer to Jesus and that I am fine where I'm at.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. That's good. That's good. Okay.
SPEAKER_02That was a lot.
SPEAKER_07I can't wait to listen back to it.
SPEAKER_00We gotta listen to that tonight.
SPEAKER_12I'm just gonna feel like something's on me 100% of the rest of the podcast. I just it's the way he was perfectly sitting on you, like looking up at you, like so interesting. Bro is a part of the audience. Like he liked. He probably he fell out of the cargo training and was like, oh no.
SPEAKER_00He's like, oh no, I lost my uh the my very f spot.
SPEAKER_09If you were to eat one meal forever, what meal would it be?
SPEAKER_02Okay, I have two. That's not the question. It's okay. I can't decide. I'm indecisive. Another trait, or another random trait. I would say pizza. I love pizza so much, so honestly, doesn't matter too much. I love jets. Jets cheese. Yeah. There's a jets by my house. Fire, it's gas. Love a good mod pizza. We are familiar. We are familiar. You know you love some mod pizza. Yes, I I love pizza. Other meal that I could eat every day, my Grammy made some gas steak and potatoes. Good. I have that every day in my life. Now we're on the free-for-all.
Pizza Forever And The Feet Debate
SPEAKER_00Free for all. Alright, I'll start it off. What are your opinions on feet?
SPEAKER_02I actually hate feet. Yep. Okay, good. I can't. Well, I had a friend. Well, she still is my friend. She would always like put she knew that I hated feet, but she would always put her feet on me, and I would like. The same reaction to that bug would be me with feet. I cannot. Men's feet.
SPEAKER_07Gross.
SPEAKER_02Even worse.
SPEAKER_12Are those worse than sixth grade boys?
SPEAKER_03Sixth grade boys' feet? Oh, the worst combination. That's worse than 9-11. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02No. Men's feet, I just cannot.
SPEAKER_07That is horrible. Criminal? Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Criminal.
SPEAKER_07Why did you even bring that up?
SPEAKER_12Right. I had to start it off strong. If you had to lose one of your senses, what would you choose and why?
SPEAKER_02I think I would lose. Okay. I I don't I like smelling stuff.
SPEAKER_12She does have That's why she doesn't like feet.
SPEAKER_06But I will admit, Tyree does have a very large perfume collection, so I kind of get that. So it's like.
SPEAKER_00Not everything has to be dirty, Morgan.
SPEAKER_02One of my autism traits is I like to smell things. So I can't lose that one. Can't lose it. Taste, I like tasting things too.
SPEAKER_07We like all of our senses.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I'm trying to like vocally process which means I would like to. That's what you're saying. Well, no, okay, but I was gonna say, like, I'm basically already blind because I wear glasses. I have my contacts in now. So I'm like really close to being there. But also, okay, so sense of touch is one I think I take that for granted because I'm like, okay, I think I could do fine without that. So maybe I would be okay without my sense of touch or seeing.
SPEAKER_10Seeing not seeing anymore. Just not seeing anymore.
SPEAKER_12Tyree the blind pop star.
SPEAKER_08She's just all off the edge.
SPEAKER_12She's doing a dance like pretty spirits, but she's facing the wrong direction on stage.
SPEAKER_02I would say, like, honestly, there are some days where because does anybody in here have to wear contacts or anything? It is like so stupid. And like having to wear glasses, and the contacts just make my eyes really dry, and sometimes it hurts. It can give you headaches. And so there are some days where I'm just like, you know what? I just don't care to see. I might not make it work for you.
SPEAKER_07Good question.
SPEAKER_04That was a really good one.
Rapid Fire This Or That
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna rap rapid fire some this or that, and you gotta like just right off the dome. You got it, okay? Alright, day or night. Siri? Sorry? Day or night.
SPEAKER_02Day or night?
SPEAKER_07Siri?
SPEAKER_02Sorry?
SPEAKER_05Transite.
SPEAKER_03I heard dare and I was like, what is dare and do it?
SPEAKER_02I heard dare or night too. Okay, sorry. I'm so sorry. Day or night.
SPEAKER_07Day, day, day, day, day. Day, day, day, day, day. Indoor or outdoor. Outdoor. Movie night, game night. Game night. Camping or staycation.
unknownOoh.
SPEAKER_07Oof. That's a translation. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_02That is a good one.
SPEAKER_07Alright. Staycation. Nice, nice, nice. Coffee or tea? Tea. Cats or dogs. Dogs. Reading a book or watching a movie. Reading a book. Spending or saving.
SPEAKER_02I like it. She put her head down to the ground. I like to spend, but I would choose to save.
SPEAKER_04Save.
SPEAKER_07That's what I would choose to do. I know what I should choose. Okay. Uh spring or fall? Spring. Spring Netflix or a movie theater? That's kind of a tricky one.
SPEAKER_02I would say movie theater. Movie theater, but for like in-game type. Like, you know, like a big movie. Energy has to be up. Right.
SPEAKER_06Wicked too. Yeah. That's my end game. Okay, well.
SPEAKER_12Ending with my end game.
SPEAKER_07Alright, calling or texting.
SPEAKER_02Texting. Don't call me. Don't call me ever.
SPEAKER_00I stopped calling you.
SPEAKER_02I have noticed that. Not for because I don't like you to call me, but you just call me at the random Miss Times. Like 2.30 p.m.
SPEAKER_00That is right.
SPEAKER_02I'm working.
SPEAKER_12I am at the office every day at 2.30 p.m.
SPEAKER_05Every time I think it's gonna change, it doesn't.
SPEAKER_02Almost as well. I have a set schedule. Well, I think you used to call me lock because you were driving the truck.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, it was because I was doing like long distance deliveries. Now I'm selling them. But I love it.
SPEAKER_07That was good. Very good, very good.
Types And Celebrity Ghost Picks
SPEAKER_02What's your type? I like blonde men. Hey, and I know there's a lot of blonde men haters in this room specifically.
SPEAKER_12So someone's gotta love him.
SPEAKER_02Someone's gonna love him. Hey, someone's gonna love him. Someone's gonna love him.
SPEAKER_12Someone's gonna love him. Someone's gonna take Chad McLabari.
unknownNever mind.
SPEAKER_09If you were to be haunted by a celebrity ghost, who would it be? That's a good question. If I were to be haunted by a celebrity ghost.
SPEAKER_00Did you make that one?
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_02That's it. Um I would wanna be haunted by Shania Twain.
SPEAKER_07She is alive. Do you have like any just out-of-pocket crazy story you'd like to share and just have it on the internet?
SPEAKER_02I unfortunately pants.
SPEAKER_05Other than her crush, who is like multiple years older than her, wrestling her and then also getting pants.
SPEAKER_02What else would you like to share? Okay, you guys act like y'all don't like. Okay, come on.
SPEAKER_12So you start your day with baby food and then you got sucked on a wash law.
SPEAKER_07I'm just wondering if there's anything else to do.
SPEAKER_01Hey!
SPEAKER_03It's not gonna be today! She'll get her water bottle.
SPEAKER_00You roll over in the middle of the night. David, you are literally next.
SPEAKER_03I had a student today.
SPEAKER_08I didn't get a bottle. My student had a water bottle and he was like flicking it in the air, and I said, Come here, and I put it upside down and made him drink it.
SPEAKER_00You humiliation him. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_08In elementary school. It's a fine line to humiliation and attention.
SPEAKER_03They want attention. David's gonna be humiliation when you have the hot seat.
SPEAKER_07When it's his turn in the hot seat, he will be in humiliation.
SPEAKER_03He will be humiliation.
SPEAKER_07He will have been.
SPEAKER_03He will have been humiliation. Humiliation.
SPEAKER_02So, no, I don't think I the thing is, I don't think I have any stories that stand out to me because that was my life. Right, right. Like it was all the stories I bring to the table, me, I think they're pretty normal. Everybody else is always like in arms over, okay, I got a concussion by my crush.
SPEAKER_00So you got a concussion, then went home and ate baby food.
SPEAKER_02So those are things like to me, pretty normal growing up. But like so, I don't have anything to share because I thought it was all normal. That's all right. So you guys just have to wait for the next normal thing to be mentioned. I don't know.
SPEAKER_07Normal to be mentioned.
Family Vacation Fears And AirTags
SPEAKER_07Oh, can I ask like uh favorite vacation you ever took?
SPEAKER_02Favorite vacation. Because maybe a story will come from that. Well, okay, so I did go on a vacation with my family. Maybe I was like 10 or 11, and we went to Boston, Massachusetts because my mom was really into like the Salem witch trials. And so she wanted to go like check out, you know, she wanted to go check it out. So it was pretty cool, like it was really old-timey vibes. It was cool. We were really close, like the path that we took, we were like, Oh, let's go to New York. And my mom was like, My dad was wanting to go to New York. My mom was like, No, we're gonna get shot, like, we're not going to New York. And so, ever since then, I always thought that if you went to New York, you'd get shot. Um, just never been to New York.
SPEAKER_07Just never been. And you know what? It is a little bit valid.
SPEAKER_02But I am going on a cruise coming up in July, and right, my mom was like preparing for it, and she got all of my brothers an air tag. She's like, this will be helpful to like keep with you like at all times. But she was texting me, she's like, I'm gonna get you two though. And I was like, Okay. She's like, Yeah, free air tag. Free air tag. She was like, Yeah, like I just want to make sure like everybody stays safe. And like, she was like, I've just always it's always been my biggest fear that you're gonna get trafficked. And I was like, kind of, kind of fair, honestly.
SPEAKER_05Valid fear.
SPEAKER_12So she got called trafficable by her mother.
SPEAKER_03She was like, You're just so bad. Okay. Oh my gosh, you love me?
SPEAKER_02She was like, You're just so beautiful, that's always been my biggest fear. Like, I'm so excited to go now. Yes, Turks and Kicko. And she was like, we're sleeping. And she's like planning, like, we're trying to plan like what we're gonna pack and like what days are you, whatever. And she's like, yeah, like maybe like the other one you get, like maybe we can like sew it into your shirt. And I was like, hey, that like in theory, great idea. I won't be wearing the same shirt the whole entire two weeks that we're there. So maybe not that one.
unknownMaybe not that idea.
SPEAKER_12Maybe not a good but yeah. Unless we have a loss situation going on.
SPEAKER_09And these are the ones, though, like kids' shoes where you can there's like kids have shoes like you pop an air tag in them. I think that's pretty lit. That's what she said. Do they have adult-sized Velcro shoes that you could do there?
SPEAKER_06Is that an actual product?
SPEAKER_12Yes.
SPEAKER_06I thought you just came up with something that we make designs off of. Dang it, Gracie. Sorry.
SPEAKER_12We'll be rich from this, don't worry. Yeah, I'm not sure. Don't worry, don't worry. There you go. Hey, you might be cooking, actually. Carnival part two.
SPEAKER_08Carnival, bro.
SPEAKER_12The name of our cruise line is Carnival 2. Carnival 2 The Christie Crab T.
SPEAKER_02Oh funny. Any mass? Any mass perguntas? You wanna close up?
Discipline Digital Detox And Learning
SPEAKER_02Hmm. I don't know. I'm currently working on this. Is one thing that I have been putting off. I want to catalog. My books that I have because I have a lot, but also I don't want to do that because I do have a lot. Okay. And I know it's gonna take forever. There's this app that I was trying to use, but apparently you have to pay for it. So I was like, okay, as a scam. I know, listen, the Dewey Decimal system, I was taught that in elementary school, so it's in there somewhere. Categorizing my books because I have a lot and they're just like throwing up on the shelf. I don't know. I'm also working on being more disciplined. I know we've talked about that before, but I don't go to bed when I should because I stay up too late. And I need to be better about that and also just be better about having time where I touch grass because I feel like I'm on my phone. I'm on my computer all day for work. And I'm on my phone to doing the duty of scrolling on reels. I have to keep it up, the group chat, okay? I have to stay current. But I need to be more diligent about disconnecting and being in my word more and reading a book, going outside, breathing some fresh air. That's what I'm working on.
SPEAKER_10And learning instruments a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, learning more instruments. There's always there's just so much things I want to learn how to do. Like I wanna like pick up learning like languages again. So I started learning how to speak Spanish. I think I'm pretty okay at it. Like I think if you drop me a Mexico, I think I'd survive.
SPEAKER_10I think I might make as long as you have double air tags.
SPEAKER_02I think I'll be good. Yeah, I wanna, but like I started learning like ASL too. So like I like languages. I like learning languages, but there's just so much that I wanna do, not have time to do it.
SPEAKER_06That's
Faith Presence And What Matters Now
SPEAKER_06real. What matters most to you right now?
SPEAKER_02Um I would say a lot of things matter to me. I don't know. Um I would say just my time with the Lord, reading the word matters. I feel like just being just abiding in the Lord and being obedient to what he's been calling you to do. I feel like discerning the voice of God too is also something that I guess I've been into or trying to learn. I feel like I'm always trying to learn that. But just being more in tune with the spirit and also being more present, like when I'm in my friend groups, again, like not trying to be connected to my phone or the computer all the time.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
Birdwatching Secrets And Final Thoughts
SPEAKER_12And finally, Tyree, what do you want people to know about you now?
SPEAKER_02Hmm.
SPEAKER_12Now.
SPEAKER_02Now okay, Owen. What do I want people to know about me now? I think it's one of those situations where I can't answer that because you're just gonna have to figure it out. You're gonna find out. You're gonna have to find out. Look, I can't tell you. What do I want people to know about me? I don't know. I like birds.
SPEAKER_03That needs to be known. What do we need to know that right?
SPEAKER_00I like birds. I like the birds. I like I like totals.
SPEAKER_02I like I actually did not know that about you. I do not know. What's your favorite bird? I'm into mocking birds. My favorite all-time favorite bird is a cardinal, but I'm into mocking birds.
SPEAKER_05I think next week we need to that needs to be our intro.
SPEAKER_02I have a bird watching app. Oh you actually.
SPEAKER_05This is like her guilty pleasure. When she goes to bed, she has like one of those she just pops her phone up and watches birds like as she's falling asleep.
SPEAKER_02I do have a bird watching app.
SPEAKER_05Bird ASMR.
SPEAKER_02So I can take a picture of it. Or I can raven at your gosh, guys! The bird watching mocking game. But you could like take a picture of it, or you could like record like what noise the bird makes. Anyways, I'm into birds. Um, I like to sing. I am I like to laugh at myself. I think more out of not me thinking that I'm hysterical, but just I just do the darndest things. I just say the darndest things.
SPEAKER_06Was that your secret word of the night? What?
SPEAKER_12Yeah, guys, we were playing sneaky in the whole time. I planted that cockroach. I can't get over the colour.
SPEAKER_00My word was tacoroche.
SPEAKER_02Which I don't even know what you're saying, because it's La Cucaracha.
SPEAKER_00I just wanted to feel a little Espanol, sorry.
SPEAKER_02I'm Latina by association. That's another thing people don't know.
SPEAKER_12I think that's a good name.
SPEAKER_10Thank you. How do you feel after being in the hot seat?
SPEAKER_02Um, uh I think that's fun. I don't know if do you guys feel like you know me a little bit better?
SPEAKER_07The bird thing actually.
SPEAKER_00I did not know.
SPEAKER_02And I think that's a good one.
SPEAKER_00And the story of your youth.
SPEAKER_12No, I think in the gymnasium. I think the bird thing's a bigger deal than the pantsing. I think that's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01It's the fact that she dated the guy who pants her.
SPEAKER_07Oh dear.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know if you guys feel like you know me more. I feel like, again, I think this is what I'm learning. A lot of the things that I do, I think are normal. But you guys just your reactions always seem to like give me the impression that they're not. But that's good.
SPEAKER_07You're not like everybody else. Oh, yeah. You're original.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm not like You can't find another Tyree. I'm not like, oh, why aren't I normal? It's just like bang. Like I really thought that they would have like been on my side with this.
SPEAKER_12I sucked alright, too. That's true. That is normal.
